  1. I didnt even think to look at mine
  2. I looked in the 82 FSM, but theres nothing :-\ Guess you'll have to be the guinea pig
  3. It helps to have some extra dampening up front....
  4. Well under this application, a external wastegate would work great.
  5. I would suggest not drilling into the turbo, this can weaken it resulting in cracks. There are a few different ways to do it. If you use a TD04 DP, the wastegate is all stock. Making a external wg is just overkill imo. This was my first setup, Saab IC using some of the stock hoses and other stuff. Then I got a WRC IC, installed a Spyder intake did a better job on the plumbing. Using a TD04 will also make fitting hoses difficult as theres little room to route them from the turbo. Its possible to rotate it a little, but then you run into problems with the wastegate actuator.
  6. I picked up a used 02 sensor from Qman tonight, I'll try that tomorrow. Dont think its the knock sensor as the timing is right on and advances when you hit the throttle. Now the pressure sensor is another thing. I have the ECU wired to my EA82T sensors, so I dont know if they are even compatible. I have some feelers out at legacycentral for the pressure sensor, but I would think they would be universal(?) Qman also suggested looking at other brand fuel pumps, dont know why I was stuck on Walbro (all nasioc's fauly ).
  7. Sounds like a diff problem. It might be getting stressed from the lift, how many miles on it? Does it shift ok?
  8. I appreciate your efforts to educate/help me, but I've done enough t-belts to know wtf I'm doing. I would like to hear from the folks that have done EJ to EA engine swaps because there can be lots of issues with wiring and sensors. As far as I know, only one other person has done the EJ22T swap and its not running yet. Telling me to check my timing is redundant.
  9. Decided to put this here considering none of these rigs are in their natural habitat. Got invited to bring my Hatch down for display purposes, so of course I obliged Pardon some of the crappy cell pics... Spotted this gem in the parking lot.
  10. I just cleaned the MAF and changed it out it for another one I had. I used the timing marks on the front pulley because I'm using a lightened XT6 flywheel that you cant see the marks on.
  11. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah It was shipped yesterday
  12. I think I mentioned earlier that I have no 02 atm. I have one on the way and the hole is plugged. Still running the EA82T FP, a Walbro inline 225lph FP is not cheap :-\ I cant even use a stock EJ pump because its a in tank model :-\ I did install a new CTS today. No changes at all :-\
  13. If your a true Subaholic, you will want to keep your old gen car as original as possible. And when you happen to have the opportunity to "show off" and embarrass a new gen owner.......priceless. Thats one reason I worked so long and hard on my EA82T, to show that average power was achievable, but at a cost.
  14. The engines that were EDM had better intakes(heads too?) on them and gained a few more horses. I believe these were exclusively on the turbo XT's.
  15. It runs rough till warmed up. I triple checked the timing belt before I installed the engine. Plus it runs ok until you try and give it more gas, except for the idle issue. It does drop to 1500 when it gets to op temp. I also put a timing light on it and its dead on at 18deg and advances with the throttle. I'm picking up a CTS this morning (thanks Briggs) and I'll go from there. I did spray brake cleaner all over the hoses, looking for vac leaks but didnt find any.
  16. You need the TD04 flange welded to the up-pipe and will need a TD04 downpipe. After that, its a bolt on.
  17. Well, the spare sensor I thought I had was on the block I traded to Jerry. So now I need to go buy one. Heres whats going on while running. I'm not letting off the gas, its crapping out as soon as it hits positive pressure.
  18. I would check the vin on your title with the vin on your car. I bought a EA81 wagon years ago that had the plates switched on it. Very confusing when it was time to transfer the title(had to do a title search).
  19. Turbone replied to kaki's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
No, the flexplate is used for a AT, not MT. It should all bolt up to your existing EJ tranny, if you have the flywheel, and clutch kit.
  20. I'll try and come to take a look at it this week.
  21. When we say JDM here, it means that the engine was originally in a Japanese car and was pulled after ~60K. Then its shipped out to where ever.
  22. Is it a wagon? They are the easiest to do. Pull the trim off the side from front to back. I believe there are clips or plugs that hold it up on the edges. The seatbelts (top) need to be removed in order to get the trim off. The visors and dome light need to be removed. The panel can be slid out the back gate.
  23. Repeat after me...... My car is not a boat My car is not a boat My car is not a boat
  24. I moved it here because all the work being done is on his offroad rig. I thought this was thread was headed towards offroad mods. It seems to have some of both so far (Offroad/stereo). If one of the other mods wants to move, its no biggie to me.
  25. Thats not a common failure item, is it? But I can swap it out for a spare I have to check. That plastic vent line that goes from the drivers side rear to pass side front, with a T to the block right behind the alt? You know the one, that if you look funny at it, it breaks? Mine was broke at the T when I got the engine and I epoxied it. I re-checked it thinking it might have cracked again, sure enough it didnt hold. I used a fast setting epoxy this time and it works. But in the process of removing the alt to work on it, I broke my custom oil sender fitting (brass) :-\ So today I need to replace that so I can test fixes I did last night. Drove it around the block again last night and if I get on the gas easy it pulls real good. I cant wait to get the bugs out and really drive it.
