Is the 6cyl a V or a Boxer?
Jerry DeMoss replied to rugbyben's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSubies have always been boxer style unless you count the justy or the 360.

13b Turbo Rotary into Legacy
I think it would be cool to do one of those as a swap.I know that the mounting and what not will be a bit tricky but would be really cool to see it done.Good luck.I think rotaries are a nice engine but if you are going to boost it at all...you better get some better apex seals in there and do a periferal port on the engine to make it come alive.

my intercooler is in finally!
Nice to hear you are able to make some headway. Are you going to have to pull out the motor and use a bfh to make room for the turbo and piping?Good luck with that.

Rebuilding an EA81T
Depending on the mileage your internals should be ok.I had the same problem on the '86 hatch that I bought.TurboXT and I put new headgaskets on and that made it run like a top. This is just the n/a motor but I am sure it would be pretty similar. Also the motor i have has 187k on it.Good luck.

ea71 into a 1994 Justy? could it be done?
Ya you could do it.You would be cutting the fire wall a bit and mounting custom engine mounts.Just depends on how much you want to do it.Also time and money come into play. Also it is the oil pump that gets chewed up on those little 3's.

Puzzle for EA81 experts.
Power wire for the distributor from the coil?
-
how to tell 1600 from 1800?
Look for the engine code on the block right next to the distributor.Should just be a little to the left and up from there(If you are facing the engine from in front of the car).If it says ea71 you have the 1.6L and if it says ea81 it is the 1.8L.Probly have the 1.8L ea81 in your car.

Really nice pics!Good job on going through that ice.Any under carriage damage on any of the vehicles?

84 Turbo wagon failed emissions
Did you check your muffler bearings? That may be the problem.Maybe blowing oil back in through the knueter valve due to rapid expansion. Just kidding.Possible that one of the injectors is sticking a little. Not real familiar with the "T" ea81's.Also the idea of the 02 sensor may be a good place to start.Let me know if you would like some extra help.

Murphy's First Headjob!
There shouldn't be any need for any type of sealer as long as you mating surfaces are clean.Good luck.

ea81t is nearing completion.......
Nice job Ross.I find unique pleasure hearing about success stories of the ever valiant ea81 or ea81t.Way to go.

Motoroil weight ?
Depending on if you are using synthetic or regular oil the viscosity may seem a little different.I have found that 10w30 synthetic flows like 5w30 regular.I have no proof to back it up I have just found that I really like sythetics alot better.
