That's odd... any oem speakers are likely shot just due to age by now. Wires in the link to the doors can break and be intermittent.

Not sure on either. I was in high school when I got them replaced, and didn't know much about cars/Subarus. Based on how the shop did everything else, I'd say they used cheap gaskets and didn't resurface the heads. Which is why the car is having head gasket problems now. Would've done it myself the first time if it wasn't my first car. Now I'm trying to decide between buying a new car, new engine, or rebuilding. Sorry not trying to hijack the thread. To the op, make sure you have oem thermostat and radiator cap.

Make sure you keep the engine oil level topped up by checking it frequently. Keep a couple of quarts of engine oil in the car and add one as needed, same with the power steering fluid (ATF) as mentioned above.

I am not sure about EA81 heads.... But hose cracks on EA82s are common as dirt, and don't matter. There was a TSB for them. EA82 I think would bolt onto the trans - but the EA81 is more reliable and simpler.

Seriously, hone it and put new rings in it will be fine.

The tank studs will break off if you use to much force! Grind a slot in the nut if needed to get it off. If the fuel pump bolts are rusted, changing the tank will not be fun.

As of: 3 Feb 19 Car Is fully on suspension, some aesthetic changes have been made. A few final tweaks here and there and locating the right car for the ej swap and paint and I will be all set. I will post future innovations as they are created as well as driving experience. Whos got some RX side skirts!!??

yes, if you have complete assemblies, you can do this. 3 nuts on top, 2 bolts on the bottom - out with the old, in with the "new". pay attention to the 2 large bolts at the bottom - one is cammed for alignment purposes - it needs to go back in the same place. being as how you will be changing the overall stance, you should make an appointment for a proper alignment as soon as possible after the swap so you don't end up with unnecessary tire wear
