  1. Swap in WRX engine and call it that. As good a motor the EA81 is, I would not waste that much time/money on it.
  2. Yeah my thought is the IAC as well. Not getting a check engine light what makes it weird. Would cleaning the IAC on my EJ25 be about the same as on my EJ22?
  3. This has been an issue ever since I bought my 2000 RS. When I first start the motor, I have to give it about 2 minutes of warm up time or when driving my RPM's will hang and fall slowly when I push the clutch in. Making shifting accurately a problem. After a few minutes the problem goes away and can shift like normal. Do I have a dirty IAC or PCV or something? My only remedy to this is letting it run before driving it every morning for several minutes.
  4. Buddy of mine has one in 02 WRX as well. He likes it but the only down side is that it scratches all of his cds after a period of time.
  5. Either way your screwed. Open container vs. alcohol in public. Now if the BRAT was not in motion. You might be able to swing it like guys do at tail gate parties. You should really talk to someone who knows their crap, front desk lady might not understand your plight.
  6. You'll thank yourself for buying the subaru part.
  7. Just order you one from the Subaru dealer. I got mine for $20, you will be surprised of the quality from Subaru to the aftermarket part.
  8. And make sure they are 05+.
  9. I am sure you have already posted your issue on www.nasioc.com ? Those guys might be helpful, just beware that the locals are not as friendly as we are here.
  10. Rob, I'm pretty sure you've worked/owned every Subaru model imported to this country several times over.
  11. Subaru cap would be idea, I had good luck going with a 3rd party radiator cap. I've read its best just to stick with one without the valve pressure release if that is what you are getting.
  12. Q. What to do with an RX? A. More than likely headgaskets after you buy it. I've seen some people running the WRX TD04 turbo on their EA82's but your in for a lot of work if you want to go that route.
  13. You don't need to worry about pulling it on ramps to change the slave cylinder. Its right there on the drivers side of the engine bay. Bleeding it is the most time consuming part. Helps to have a friend push/release the pedal while you do the rest.
  14. Holy crap, that is cool. Congrats.
  15. We need to see pictures of said "free" BRAT.
  16. http://www.northursalia.com/modifications/drivetrain/cbleed/cbleed.html Thats for an RS but everything should be pretty close to whats mentioned in the article. It will give you a starting point on removal.
  17. There is also a big running petition on Nasioc for Recaro seats. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1364234 Not seen much luck with that yet. Your heart is in the right place dude. I think your just gonna have to settle for a used Baja.
  18. It would be sweet but I don't see it ever happening.
  19. Rob, put that in your rally Impreza if you still have it.
  20. I remember hearing something about one of the timing chain tensioners causing trouble.
