  1. Hey, that's some smart thinking! (on the part of the creators)
  2. wow thats not bad! What does the car tip the scales at?
  3. I wouldnt call them lucid dreams, I would call them hallucinations, now lay of the drugs man! One weird thing that happens to me is when I dream I sometimes solve real problems, or In my dreams I make decisions based on facts I didn't think I knew. Then I wake up and think, hey, those actually are facts! It can make me feel a little creepy. Or theres the occasional soccer ball dream where just as I'm waking up a soccer ball comes flying towards my head or towards my feet and I kick it or duck just as I wake up and realize my legs in the air kicking a soccer ball that isn't there :-\ It's like a big rush of adrenaline as the ball comes flying towards me too.
  4. An overheat on these cars seems to destroy the heads mostly. If the heads aren't too bad then the bottom end is probably ok unless the cars got high mileage and it's getting sloppy anyways. I'd split the block and plastiguage all the crank and rod bearings to make sure they're not worn too much. Check the cylinder bores with a digital caliper to make sure they're within spec. With the block torn down I would go all the way and put new rings on the pistons and give the cylinders a hone. Oh ya, get some new headbolts as well, or at least some out of a motor in better shape. ...how many edits is this gonna take me
  5. That approach usually just ends up in injury At least in my experience.
  6. maybe the pin wasn't put in the axle so it came partially off and twisted? Probably just bad luck, these stubs seem to go when you don't expect them.
  7. They did the supercharger/turbo combo on some of the crazy group b rally cars of the 80s. The supercharger had a clutch pulley that disengaged when turbo boost hit a certain level to and then reingaged when the boost went down. Thre result was almost no lag like a supercharger, but the power continued right into the 8000rpm range. These motors were making in excess of 700hp on motors under 2.5l! The 0-60 time of the ford RS200 was under 3 sec IN THE GRAVEL!!
  8. I'm guessing your transmission is the 4 speed auto with full time 4wd? Or is there a pushbutton for 4wd?
  9. yeah sure I suppose that's possible. Headgaskets don't usually blow from the coolant passage to atmosphere. However oil burning on the exhaust will leave white smoke as well.
  10. well, I don't see how your PS fluid could be making it into the combustion chamber
  11. are you running a more open exhaust setup? I noticed with the dual open exhausts on my wagon that I would get a really cool throaty poppling burble when the motor was cold, but after it warmed up it turned into more of an annoying "ffshhhh pud pud" kind of noise I think you'll just have to live with it or put a quieter muffler on. It is actually a slight backfire, just not enough to make a bang, just a light pop from inside the exhaust ports.
  12. man I can't wait till wcss6, I mean uhh, until I get to see pictures of it Wish I could be there
  13. I know on extreme angles with my ea82 it starts to push blue as the oil reaches the level of the pistons. But it's never been white, just a fairly deep blue.
  14. white smoke is steam ie water or coolant. Oil is blue or in extreme cases whitish blue, running rich is black. my guess is that because of a bad headgasket, intake gaskets, or a crack in the head, you've gotten a piston(s) full of water. Change the oil and look for signs of water in the old oil. It may be milky and thick. Or may just have water suspended in it if you havent run the engine much.
  15. if the aluminum part bolts on you wont have a problem with heat expansion rates. Press fitting is more likely to have problems, but may still work.
  16. ok I was actually stuck on that fwd vs 4wd splines bit, wasn't quite sure. You're planning on swapping in a multi point fuel injected turbo motor, so you've got to swap the entire FI harness and computer. Do as little cutting of the harness as you can and try to swap it all in as one piece.
  17. I doubt you'd notice any difference, pretty much all the gears move anyways in fwd mode.
