  1. Let me be Sincere here, I could do an EJ engine swap on my Subie, only if the EA82 would need a rebuilt; but that EA82 is close to reach 400,000 Miles and still runs like new, no oil burning and starts at the first try every time; it has been dependable and reliable for the last thirty years, working hard in Honduran roads as everyday driver on week days and offroader in weekends; so I really can't complain at all, except that it feels Anemic; otherwise is an Awesome, noble engine, considering that it has been Mistreated a lot, and I bet that almost every other car would have failed after three decades of continued abuse. So, I would not do an EJ engine swap, unless my EA82 engine blows ... and only if I could not repair it, maybe due to the lack of availability of good old EA engine's parts locally. Kind Regards.
  2. Also, the third Gen EA82 Heads doesn't have the EGR passage opened. In fact, Subaru discovered that the EGR design on the EA82 is pretty Unhealthy for the Engine, because it not only didn't make the desired results, but also it was somehow harmful for one cylinder, so, they avoided using the EGR in every part of the world where it was not required. The Blue intake looks Good, why not continue using that same Blue on the Valve's covers? Kind Regards.
  3. The Brat / Brumby \ MV was sold in the LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) up 'til 1994. I believe the same happened in Australia, the Third gen Brat was planned to be sold after that, Only few "Subaru Suiren" Prototypes were built, and the project was cancelled... Photos of such prototype at the Legendary "Strange & Weird Subaru Stuff" Thread. Kind Regards.
  4. A li'l Update: My "BumbleBeast" is working good, just like if nothing wrong had happened, thanks to God. Right now I am changing a couple of Parts on the Steering area, Then I'll take it for an Alignment... Kind Regards.
  5. Now that Phrase is like the ones I use to talk... Also it suits perfectly some local people I know here in Honduras.
  6. You forgot to add the Details of your Ride, such as Model Transmission type, etc...
  7. Appreciated SubaruJawn, Very respectfully let me tell you this, despite that I know that you will not like my advise: Try to avoid driving on Rainy nights with those Blueish lights, the deep blue accent of the light is somehow "Swallowed" by humidity, making to drive on wet pavement with such "illumination" to be pretty Dangerous. Such kind of bulbs are used more for the Looks they give to the car, but they really provides much worser illumination. Kind Regards.
  8. Exactly like my Grandmother, in fact she was Truck driver, from the era of the "Cryer" Trucks, You know, the ones that sounded like Crying while climbing hills, carrying load on first gear... and you needed real Muscle to shift the Gears... 1940's ~ 1950's ...Kind Regards.
  9. This photo was taken moments before I did the oil change on my Wife's car, the "KiaStein" I was drinking the Orange Steaz and eating a mix of seeds & Dried Fuits ... my favourite snacks I have years using this "Delo 400" motor oil which is certified by the American Petroleum institute to be Suitable for Gasoline and Diesel Engines. (up to date SM class) Kind Regards.
  10. Sorry to read that, I hope that you are Alright. If no one hurts, it was not a really Bad day after all, it only changed your Plans with your Subaru... Kind Regards.
  11. Time for an Update! After the recent weird climate changes in the Caribbean (More info ~► Here) first my li'l daughter was ill, then my Wife and finally I, so I ended using the money on medicines. Now we're alright, But I needed my "BumbleBeast" back to its Daily Driver status, as soon as possible. So, this past weekend, I simply poured fresh 80W~90 GL-5 transmission & differential Oil, and the Beast is running again; a bit noisey but flawlessly as only a Subaru could survive such ordeal. Of course I plan to open and Check the Transmission, but untill I have all the needed items to reseal it, meanwhile I hope it could keep working good. Kind Regards. ► Edit: Fixed the web link on the word: "Here" above.
  12. Sometimes the best route to go is Trial and Error, especially with this old-school carbureted engines, so, if you can manage it to start, let it warm a little, then move the distributor slowly counterclockwise and then clockwise, until it seems to run Better, and then move the idle mixture screw on the Carburetor; when it is better at idle, move again slowly the distributor and try accelerating; that will give you an start point to put the timing & mixture closer to where they should be. Also check the PCV valve and hoses for vacuum leaks, correct if necessary. Kind Regards.
  13. Don't forget to share some Photos with Us. Have a Nice Wheelin' Trip! Kind Regards.
  14. Seems like we have more durable and crazier, Alternative ideas for Rear wheel drive conversions, in my Country: This thread might continue here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/88248-rear-wheel-drive-loyale/ Kind Regards.
  15. I am not very familiar with these newer models, however it worth tell you that some Fuel Pumps' Circuits, receives the signal from the Crank position sensor to let the fuel pump work, so it will be stopped / not receiving voltage until the engine moves, either by the Starter motor or by itself. So, I kindly suggest you to re-check the voltage at the Fuel Pump while cranking. Kind Regards.
  16. Nope. After reading the new information, I believe that the Carburetor and / or misconnected vacuum hoses are the Culprits. Good Luck! ... Kind Regards.
  17. I would start by Checking the Timing at the Distributor, then the Choke. I believe that your Carburetor needs a Cleanup... Good Luck! ... Kind Regards.
  18. You want to install a GL instrument Cluster on your DL, both EA82's. The USMB member: "Fangster" mentioned that he accomplished that, in Australia, on this Thread: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/50291-93-loyale-speedometer-cluster/ Also, another Australian: "hilux_1990" wrote that he did the same retrofitting: on this thread: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/4560-l-series-gauge-cluster-swap/?p=99981 But no one did mention an Step by Step procedures ... ... maybe another members could elaborate further on this subject. Good Luck! ... Kind Regards.
  19. That is Exactly the Description of a Timing Belt's Snap. So, I kindly suggest you to check both Timing Belts. Kind Regards.
  20. Looks good, but very Bright! I kindly suggest you to Drive with the Dimmer knob at minimum (Low) position. Kind Regards.
  21. There is another thread going on regarding Weber Jettings. You might find useful info there: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/144895-ea81-weber-3236-or-3838/?do=findComment&comment=1293629 Kind Regards.
