  1. I've got an ej22t ecu out of a 91 floating around somewhere.
  2. auto yes, California emissions no, my mom's 98 L auto had it too, and it was federal as well.
  3. I've seen flamethrower kits make out of just that setup online before lol.
  4. Personally, after reading about the hypermiling. I think thats a little ridicoulous. I've been around quite a few ej's in my days. And even with my heavy footed late teenage years I never got less than 23mpg. The 98 legacy L, auto, with 200k+ miles that we sold about 3 years ago averaged 25 in town and 29-31 highway. I've never bought into the silly fads for increasing mpg.
  5. check my old threads man. Pm me if you want to talk about it
  6. tell him you know a guy that will make him a great deal on a roof cut and tops off an 86.
  7. I just want to say first off, I hate the east coast. And congrats on another good looking project.
  8. Am I missing something, my 97 ej22 intake manifold has egr
  9. thats the air conditioner condensor drain. Not his issue as he stated no ac on the car.
  10. Nice to see some solid results from a frankenmotor. Looks good.

neither of those will work, I would probably limit the search to early ea81 cars, that advice will probably come in handy at the auto parts stores too. Advance use to always give us the wrong parts when looking up stuff for the 86 brat when we started asking for 84 stuff the computer got it right.

Hood will fit from and ea81 body car, 80-84 wagon, sedan, coupe, and 81-87 brat, or 80-88 hatch will be the same. The fenders from the same will work as well however the early years have the radio aerial on the drivers side, i think 80-82 but I'm not 100% on that. Coupe and hatch doors will also fit the brat, but must use brat window glass.
  14. I always wanted to drop an Xtra cab on a regular cab frame and bob the bed like that.
  15. If your are in the US, yes it came with a converter on it.
  16. Do we really need to give an old subare an excuse to rust, just come to the east coast, if you can find one half the work is already done
  17. You'll be best in the long run if you do the swap to meticulously pull ever stitch of wiring from the RX, label it and place it in a safe place. You'll need to put it in the wagon to run everything correctly. You'll need to fuel pump as well. Since the wagon is an auto you'll use the complete driveshaft, and trans crossmember from the coupe. Also IIRC all rx's had a rear lsd, use that and swap the rear disc brakes to the wagon. Also, keep in mind that the ea82t doesn't have the best track record with modifications.
  18. I just want to say that I love the look of the brat. And that your 84 speedo will have a vss attatched to it. If you search my posts in the retrofitting forum(or possibly old gen) there is a picture illustrating which plug it will be.
  19. I'm glad somebody got my point and didn't get bent out of shape by it. I didn't get to see one for a while after they were released, all I had to go on until then was just internet pictures. And they do not by any means do the cars justice. And yes, I agree they do need some help in certain areas with the looks. I for one enjoy the clean roofline look without racks and such, but I'm not everybody. Thats why there are dealer and aftermarket products.
  20. Yeah it will bolt over. The main difference is the turbo oil return is in that head itself, thats the tube in the bottom of the head closest to where the block should go.
  21. Lol, i'm fresh out of parts cars but have plenty of parts from them already pulled. If you were gonna do the swap the trans would have been yours and dropped off when I get back down to crossville to pick up a hatch:grin:
  22. Even a seamingly non noticable brake drag can effect fuel mileage. I have no reason to doubt that it *could* be causing this problem as well.
  23. I forgot about the pic until I just saw this thread in my cp again. Anyways here it is, I hope this helps some with making the desicion.
  24. I can agree with all of this. But when someone wants to make them into a performance machine, there is one logical way to do it. Put a motor in it that has been tested and proven its stones. Not one that has been tested and left it's stones on the road.
  25. I see you've missed my point altogether. My comparisions were solely based on looks, such as are the comments at the 08+ Impreza. I would never confuse an svx for a delorean , an xt for a fiero, a justy for a metro, or god forbid a brat for an el camino. People go around comparing the 08+ Impreza to a mazda 3, and everybody downs Subaru for it. They don't say hey its got awd, or any of the other stuff that could be argee about it. They simply down it and go on about it. People yelled and screamed that the 02/03 Impreza was a rip off of a neon. And now most of those neighsayers either own one or would like one. It comes down to one simple, logical point. If you like it fine, if you don't fine. But there comes a time when continued fussing about the same old subject grows ridiculously cumbersome. We all know the arguements against the car, they've been well stated on countless forums since the final production design was released. Just take a set back, absorb a little logic, and see if what I'm saying doesn't make a little sence to you.
