Thanks!
That thing looks good... Why did the PO give up on it?

Rear disk brake conversion disks?
Yeah, the donor car must be 4wd. And I think non turbo 2wd XT's were still rear drum brakes, at least the subie literature I have says they are.

Rear disk brake conversion disks?
Yeah, but you'll need the hubs, backing plates, calipers and brackets off an XT or ea82t car.
-
I would like you all to embrace the suby!
Statements like these make my heart bleed.... You might want to fab up a bar to attach those 4-points to. They need to be at shoulder level, not below or they will try to crush you when they are put into full effect.

ECS same as CEL???
The ECS is the predacessor to the CEL. It simply stands for Engine Control System, as in there is something wrong with. Procedure should be the same as listed in the link I posted to the USRM, again execpt the XT ecu is in the trunk. All of the XT's we recieved were mpfi.

Loyale horns and clutches??
Right, up under the dash. It may be hard to see, I haven't been around a loyale in a very long time so I can't say how easy it would be to get at.

Loyale horns and clutches??
The clutch switch is on the pedal box. If you have cruise there will be two switches, if not there is only one...

86BRATMAN replied to heartless's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIndeed, with the design of the coil pack if one goes, both on that bank go.- ECS same as CEL???
http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49918 Read this, everything is correct except the location of the connectors in the XT, they are in the trunk near the passenger's side fenderwell. Find out what it tripping the cel, and get it fixed. Reset the ecu and take it back in.- 84 GL is running rough
+4200000000000000.2 on replacing the plug wires.... www.rockauto.com I just ordered a set of ngk's for the XT for $26.** delivered. My local parts stores could only get me the crap xact wires and that stuff quick, and the ngk's were almost twice as much and the same delay(7-10 days) to get them.- Spfi Ea81
It will work perfectly... Read the write-up for the conversion here and ignore everything that talks about wiring. You'll only need to do the intake manifold and disty mods.- Heater blower missing speeds replace or repair post
I know where they are on the ea82... I was going to pull the resistor from my parts ea81 wagon, for use in the xt. Edrach said they were the same for ea81 and ea82, hense I was asking where on the ea81.- looking at 97 legacy
86BRATMAN replied to swilde20's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI had a 95 brighton, swapped in a cluster from a 96 L and everything worked perfectly. I however did not look into locks, windows, or mirrors. If the wiring is there, you'll still need relays, swithes and all that fun stuff.- EA81 dies at lights.
The tach jumping around is a sure sign of worn distributer. I would suggest finding a good j/y unit to install and rebuild/have yours rebuilt. And for the crud in the tank, run it low on fuel and drain the tank. There is a 12mm bolt in the tank for draining, you could also get a smallish can of fuel and fluch it out while doing this. Then replace both fuel filters, one front one in back.- Buggyroo Pics
Here's the link. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/payments.php Or go to you usercp, and click on paid subscriptions on the left hand side link bar.- Heater blower missing speeds replace or repair post
Could also be a leaf stuck in there. I've had that happen more than a few times.- Heater blower missing speeds replace or repair post
I must be missing something. After reading this I was going to pull the resistor from my parts ea81 wagon, for use in the xt. And I can find no resistor. Where should I be looking?- Yay finally got my 1400 road legal ( lots of pics )
How hard would it be to install four wheel discs onto one of the cars of this vintage? i know it would take away from the history of it, but it would make parts a lot easier to come by.- Whats the deal w/these Catalytic Converters?
I don't think the worth of convertors has reached the druggies in rural Tennessee and Virginia just yet...- Correct me if i`m wrong: 95 ej22 into 98 forester
86BRATMAN replied to 75subie's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXUsing stock ej25 sensors and wiring, it is as easy as installing another ej25 in its place. In all actuality, probably only slightly harder than my instalation of a my91 ej22 into a my95 obd2 wagon... - Help - need educated guesses/opinions *Update*
