  1. a 20 foot 17,000lbs tow strap and a com along got my hatch out when i sunk it in some nasty poop mud the other day, but of coarse the lifted wagon drove around in it without any problems. ive thought of a 4Klbs winch with receivers front/rear but with the straps, snatch blocks, and some gloves and ive been good thus far.
  2. perfect because im about to yank a trans today for my 82 hatch to swap in the 5sp d/r gotta admit it though, this little 82 with the 1.0 4th gear really scoots on the highway.
  3. ya that is a sub frame brace, like a sub-frame connectors for third gen camaro/firebird and foxbody mustangs. that is not a replacement for your oem parts, just adds to it.
  4. who makes a replacement subframe for the GD cars? i know there are subframe braces, but no replacement.
  5. so its a oil catch can, why not just buy a a water/air separator for a air system from a shop compressor, usually $7 and toss it inline and your done.
  6. i miss that the snow is gone here in washington now that i have 4 running subies, but when we had it i only had my wife's outback so that was only one, and i really couldn't play in it like i wanted.

  8. i have a SJR 2inch lift and 28inch wildcat tires on 15inch pug flat spokes, its been a great settup for trail rides, logging roads, and playing in the mud. worked great to pull out my bone stock 82 hatch back i sunk yesterday in some mud bog i stopped in.
  9. i got one for my 96 impreza outback, ebay brand, cusco, then a Mine's, none fit, they all hit my exhaust. same thing with a friend on his 03 2.5rs. you can get the control arm brace which is the bar that goes between the control arms, but not a H-brace.
  10. ive put one on almost every one of the 20 cars ive owned. a little secret place for a small toggle switch that interupts the signal from the key to the starter works great, also same for the coil, or fuel pump or multiple switches. oh and i just got a ticket for discharging a firearm withing city limits ($86) when i shot the would be car thief about 1 year ago. he tried to get my civic so he took a 12gauge rubber slug to the leg, that and me standing over him with the pump until teh cops showed kept him there. not saying it was the best thing to do but it was the third time i had chased off the same kid in a month.
  11. lookin like im keeping my lifted wagon, and the hatch might get fixed up, painted, and then get a EJ22 and EJAWD trans swapped into it for a winter beater.
  12. nice turn out, question for you though, did you drop the engine/trans/rear diff at all? or just the blocks between the struts and body? i have the SJR 2inch suspension, but my front CV's hit the sub frame so im thinking of droping the front/rear 2inches to match the blocks on the struts.

  14. well i tried to go play in some mud and just sunk it, dam near to the frame. had to get my lifed wagon out and winch it out. pictures to come, as well as a SJR 4inch lift and some kind of 28inch tall tires and wheels. gotta figure that out yet. also have a question for the people who have lifted their EA81 on a 4inch lift. how many have torn out suspension components. this will be a daily driver and i want to make sure i don't tear out the radus rod mounts or anything.
  15. she's sittin pretty in my drive way right now, got a bath, and my 86 blue wagon is going away monday night. i wont make this trail run, but i hope to make the next. getting a SJR 4inch lift on monday, then just need to track down some wheels/tires and ill be good to go.
  16. stock springs. on stock 86 4WD struts, 2inch block ontop of the struts for the suspension lift.
  17. just got doen giving her a bath which she sorly needed, now its 100% less grass and moss. also figured out the binding which i had a feeling it was this. 3 of teh tires are 185/80/13, right rear is 185/70/13, i have a set of brand new tires somewhere in 185/70/13 so im gonna try to find those and mount them today at my work.
  18. thanks everyone ya im really diggin it. i am tempted to EJ it with a EJ AWD tranny with some 14inch alloy pugs and A/T's, but its the replacement for my lifted wagon for going hunting and such so it will get lifted. beast: ya i drove it home and that was it last night, i know different tire size, if they swaped the diff or trans without matching ratio's it will do the same. but also the center diff is its junk it can make it bind, so i have alot to go over today on it. one thing i did check and there is NO RUST, well a few little bubbles and surface but nothing that i have found has gone through yet so im happy about that. and if i find some i have a rust free hatch at my work i can cut patch pannels out of. one more picture of it from last night.
  19. 2inch SJR suspension lift, and the adjustable stock struts are on the middle settings.
  20. so you can move with your fingers, but not when you suck on it? it should move freely, nearly no force at all, if there is replace it.
  21. if the brace is for the 06 impreza 2.5i, then it will fit. but if its listed as 06 WRX/STi then it will not fit. different exhaust placement for the turbo makes it fit.
  22. here are some quick pictures of it before a wash or anything. ^i know its a horrid picture but its just to show that all the dash lights still work, as well as the switch for the third eye and the light on the cluster works.
  23. if it does not move, or moves then moves back to the original position then the diaphragm is bad.
  24. im getting some pictures right now of it, its bone stock, just had the EA81 rebuilt, runs good, tranny grinds when down shifting into second, also it gets a bind in the tranny when in four wheel drive wether its 4lo or hi. first mod, yakima towers and crossbars, gonna make a faring for it and a roof basket.
