anyone done it? we have many stock cd player stereo's from legacy's at work and i wanted to see if it will go in. Thanks, Shean
-
awsome thanks for the info. now i just need to find someone who has the weekend off to help. ill bring some cash and your favorite 6'er
-
no the front im leaving alone, rears are at the highest, and when i do the lift ill do 2inch in the front and drop the sub-frame 1inch, and the rear 2inch and drop the rear diff 2inches. i think ill be fine with that settup

let see, was offroading with a buddy in his chevy luv that was on 33's, went slow through a small pond about half way up the tires, water hit the coil and it dies there. got a replacement from the wife after 2 hours. and ive done the 4wd thing a few times wondering why it was so hard to go anywhere.
-
i like power tools so i have no problem cutting the crap out of the fenders to get it to fit.
-
well if there is anyone in the sound area of seattle and willing to help me build one i am very willing to pay for your help. i was gonna build it myself but i have to get my welder fixed and stuff. i was thinking of 2inch suspension, 1inch front subframe, 2inch rear shocks and 2inch at the diff would be fine for a trail rig and daily driver. im not wanting something hardcore just a fun trailrig i can use to go hunting, and play in some mud here and there.
-
ya i clear in the front fine just on full lock it rubs while driving. rear rubs on large bumps and on full compression of the rear suspension. i tried 2wd rear shocks and they are the same size as my 85 4wd ajustables at the tallest notch. i think i should be fine after i roll the fenders and the 2inch lift. i measured the tires and they are 26.5's so with the 2 i hope to be fine, if not then they rub a little.
-
im running 215/75/15's on stock 85 suspensino and offroading on full compression they do rub in the back alittle. i was gonna pick up the SJR 2inch lift kit but i want to make sure i will not rub, i dont mind the occaisional rub but not all the time. ive searched but found nothing, Thanks, Shean

current and first offroad/trailrig i actually am getting to build. never had time or the funds before. 85 blue EA82 wagon, 5sp D/R, carbed. Pug 15inch flat spokes w/ Wildcat 215/75/15 tires soon to have a SJR 2inch lift, custom exhaust, and later on a carbed EJ22 swap and keeping the D/R tranny, some safari doors, roof rack, and custom bumpers as well as a winch possably.

ok well looks like im gonna have to get my welder fixed or barrow my bosses to build a kit. on 2inch you dont need to extend the steering shaft right? also brake lines are good until over a 4inch lift?
-
ok i just picked up some pugs in 15's, and put some wildcat 215/75/15's on it, took a salzall to the front fenders and did soem beating, now they clean no problem. but when going into full articulation the rears dont clear the fenders. this is a 85 wagon and the rear shocks are at their lowest height setting. now when i put them to the tallest setting i should be fine right? in theory i really only need 1inch of clearance and a BFH will do the rest, but what is the gain when going from lowest to heighest setting on those shocks? Thanks

what happened, this site has really slowed down over the last 6 years. -
ok wondering the easiest way to ajust the rear shocks to the highest setting. i pulled it off the rears and tried with a spring compressor but they wont budge. any easy quick way? Thanks, The Scooby

i assure you, i am not new to these things i have built many race cars that comply with all regulations, it fastenes back behind the rear seat, where with the geometrey it will hold me in place with no compression. also the sides go down and fasten to the factory locations for the seat belt, so they will be plenty safe for street use and playing around in fields. -
got a free 3pt harness from the owner of the performance shop i work for yesterday. tossed it in last night. its not like its a fast car, just makes me feel more secure in the seat while sliding sideways at 30+mph. also have to rep my new wagon mafia sticker

ya i thought it was rather funny that i yanked him out with no problem in 4lo when we was saying on the pumpkins, then i sank to the frame and took a D9 to pull me out. when the ford was trying i was in 4lo and it only moved like an inch. and the D9 just idled me out it was cool to see.
-
well last night was the first time ive been had to be pulled out. i was driving home when i was flagged down by a few teenagers that had got their stock wrangler stuck in the mud. so i went uot to the field and pulled him uot no problem, but when i was driving back to the road i drove the same way out and got high centered. well the mud we where on was seriously like quick sand. so i found a guy with a lifted F250 and i had to get my girlfriend come get me so i could go buy a tow strap. got back and tried to get it out. we ended up having to get one of the D9 cat's and use it to get me out. oh well, had fun in the 60+ mph gusts and the pouring down rail just glad there was someone to help me out. i know now that i really need that recovery kit fo sho

check coolant level, mine was doing the same thing, ended up coolant was just low. -
with my 86 GL i had the drivers seat was toast, so i was working at aaron's wrecking yard at the time so i picked up a set of impreza seats, used the GL brackets after unbolting them from the stock seat, the front 2 bolt wholes match up so i put a nut/bolt in there, then just redrilled the 2 rears and just tossed another set of nuts/bolts and bolted them back into the car. they do sit higher then the stock seats, or was that from the stock seats having no foam left legacy seats cant be THAT different. im thinking about putting a set of WRX front's in for my offroader
