  1. my 86 GL wagon, 5sp 4wd, launching in 4wd at 2k ran a 21 in the quator mile, the mph was 61mph each time. shifting at 4500, this was running stock Y-pipe, cut open the second cat, and a thrush turbo muffler in the back, and with the stock air box. new car should be in high 15's i hope...
  2. im sorry, your car does not have a V6, it would have a flat4 or horazontally oposed 4 cylnder engine, boxer type, or its a GT which had the flat 4 still but in a 2.5litre. just wanted to help you out in your info, no trying to sound like a wongleflute. Shean
  3. ya right now on my 86 wagon i have a custom header with no cat there, and the other car in the intermediate pipe that connects the Y-pipe to the muffer i gutted, all i did was wear a dust mask, cut it open with a die grinder, and drive a large screwdriver through it in a bunch of places with a hammer. then just pry/break it all and pull it out, the hammer the car back together and weld her up and your done. i have also just done this on my down pipe for my turbo coupe.
  4. dang, i have always and will continue to always change the oil and filter promptly at 3k, its a habit and i dont care what people say, to me its worth it to have a clean filter/oil in it at all times.
  5. How much would it run my for you to make me 3 of these, in 8X8?? Thanks, Shean
  6. sorry i spazed out, i thought it said top speed EA82, should pay attition more. Shean
  7. the turbo coupe ive gotton to 110, dead wind, flat freeway midday with NO ONE ON IT FOR MILES, it was a nice change. the wagon, 90, down hill... Shean
  8. best bet tog et a 5sp dual range tranny is from a 85/86 wagon, they seemed to have those more so then auto's, but they went from 85 to i think 89 which is when they changed to a push button 4wd.
  9. i can weld the stock piping, its not hard, also there is no way i would buy something like that, too pricy when i can build it my self at a 1.4 of the cost. Shean
  10. well once again, i got another DP clogged, the stock one finally clogged, then i got another from work, it lasted me about 3 weeks, and now it clogged fully tonight. so this time im going to replace it myself, how hard it it to replace the DP on a 3dr, the one thats going on has had the stock cat gutted, and all the stock welds cleaned and reinforced, looks like i got a project for the next week after work. Shean
  11. i had a ghetto rigged system on my EA82 when i had the stock carb on it. it was a stock carb stud lengthened int he middle with another bolt, then get a SPFI intake, drill a whole in the top for the stuf, then use your stock wing nut to hold that on tightly, then put a cone filter where the spare tire is soposted to go and there you are, seemed a little better at higher RPM. Later, Shean
  12. if it was me, i would go 1000CC with stubaru turbo and a 6sp, but thats just me. Shean
  13. how hard is it to completly rebuild a EA82T, i mean new rings, bearings, everything, i am going to do this soon, i have rebuilt many chevies, but no subies yet. also any tips on how to do things and tips on tools i will need will be greatly apreaciated. Thanks, Shean
  14. hey turbone, what do you think they are worth? like $200 then with decent tires? what... im really not trying to be a smart arse or anything i just want some insight on what you think they should cost.
  15. well i just re routed a few stock lines together, then hooked up the hose directally to the intake, ran it through the gromet on the top of the drivers side of the engine bay, then up the side of the interior to the gauge which is mounted on the A-pillar, works fine and the car runs great still. all i did was get some 5/32 rubber vacume hose form schmucks, 6ft of it, then hooked it to the intake then got a 1/8inch coupling that screws onto the nipple on the back of the gauge, then shoved the hose in, its a very snug fit and it doesn't leak.
  16. the tires that where on them before where bald with the cords comming through, the tires that are on them now have over 5k left in them. thats why the price went up.
  17. ya its a vacume/boost, and i was thinking of tying into one of the lines on the intake.
  18. ...how do you hook them up, i got a vacume/boost gauge today for $15 and i want to put it in, what is the easiest way to hook it up. again this is a mechanical gauge. Thanks, Shean PS... Pictures help too of hook up and mounting locations.
  19. with decent tires you all think $250 is too much, then how much would you offer, and dont say $140, thats crap, i see them go for $200 all the time. and if no one wants to pay that much i know i can get that much on e-bay.
  20. and i was just thinking, im going to have the guy bring them to my work and see if he will let me put them oon for a few days to see if i like them, if i do i'll get pictures. but i dunno i might just get the tires off them and get some other rims because the whole theme settup for my car is red silver and black, so i dunno how its going to look with the gold rims.
  21. they are 13's, which is fone with me, they come with BFG traction T/A tires with about 100 miles on them, 205/60/13 and actually i like the 13's on my coupe, i think they look good, i would get tires for my 15's but i cant afford them. and i want $250 for my pugs, lugs and decent tires.
  22. i can get a set of these with brand new tires for $200, think its a good deal? i was going to sell the 15's with their tires and buy these for the coupe. what do ya think?
  23. all i did today was use a cutoff wheel on a dye grinder at Aaron's, cut off the bottom heat sheild, just the tack welds, then cut a large C in the bottome, then just hammered a long flathead screwdriver and put it through about 4 times and it all fell out, then got the needle nose and pulled out the mesh. now i just have to weld it back up as well as the flange tot he DP itself where it bolts to the turbo, its cracked almost 50% around the pipe, so looks like i got to do that also now.
  24. you've got some great points, but i was thinking of building a hybrid if i kept it, then see what it could do. but im not going to keep it, its just too much work for me to try to do when i am leaving for phoenix in a month. oh did you get my PM about the VIN by the way?? Thanks, Shean
  25. ya i know, im trying to get a turbo timer, boost controller, gauges (a/f, boost/vacume, and EGT) and get a intercooler settup like yours with H20 sprayer settup, and a electric fan pushing air through the intercooler until i can get a scoop to fit my hood.
