  1. well glad everyone made it out ok and no other homes where damaged, i thought i smelt smoke lol. and thats why we have a fire proof safe for the ammo and guns.
  2. see i never wheeled mine with the EA82, only pulling people out of the snow banks/ditches last winter. but between driving it with a EA82 that was carbed and going to the EJ22, needless to say its worlds apart. the car is so much easier to drive, freeway onramps you don't need a running start at to get to 60. passing is effortless. even in the city its just so much easier to drive. my dad and i both agree that a more powerful car is a safer car. thats why i drive my 280hp WRX swapped 99 impreza almost every day. but i wouldn't be timid at all about jumping into my lifted wagon and going to portland for the day.
  3. most recent after the DL headlamp swap.
  4. nice job thus far, but honestly putting off the EJ swap. . . im very glad the EA82 i had tanked and made me do it sooner. i will never own another subaru with the EA82 in it. that will be the first thing to get chucked. with the 50lbs each 27X9.50 SSR's i have i can do 80+mph without any problems and still get 24-26 MPG
  5. ya ive got a 2inch SJR lift with 1.5inch spacers on the front X-member from a 98 outback. running a 27X8.50 14 SSR's. they do rub a little but nothing a BFH can't take care of. but since i built my car to wheel and not be the prettiest thing i hacked up the front fenders to fit the 28" AT's i had on it before the lift. i would like to re do the front fenders so it looks better but what ever i think my wagon looks like a tank. anyways yours looks great with the lift and wheel/tire combo. very nice work. why? i daily drive mine in between DD'ing my turbo impreza. why would he not want to get it muddy. for the first time since i bought my 86 wagon (got it aug of 2008) i rinsed it, no not washed it but rinsed the mud off, but now it looks like the paint is stained from the mud which i like the look. its the look of something that is used for what it was built to do. not a pretty show car.
  6. they looked good last night when you turned into Safeway in burien and i yelled and waved but you didn't notice me. i still need to come get that hub and rotor.
  7. i had a problem with camber on my MY86 wagon eveon with the SJR kit, but i added the factory 1.5inch spacers from a outback and no more problems and now my CV's don't rub on the front X-member. if you drop the front subframe its not gonna hurt nothin. i rather learn what wholes i can make it through or learn to drive on top of the ruts then replace tires every few months. just makes more sense to me...
  8. let me know ill wait on the side of I-5 and meet up with yall around southcenter/tukwila
  9. i would not use grade 8 bolts, they will just snap where grade 5 or 6 will bend and you can still get home. i used grade 5 when i put the OEM lift blocks form a outback on the front X-member on my MY86 wagon and have yet to have any problems. they use the spacers on the front and rear X-members. but also the front tie bar that bolts to the rear diff and then T-'s to the outrigger has spacers there as well and the outrigger brackets are dropped to acomidate.
  10. im gonna be building 4 tube/safari doors for my MY86 lifted wagon if i can get ahold of a pipe bender. i want it to be done before the old school meet.
  11. im sorry that you have no idea and like to ramble. . . have a great day spreading more misinformation.
  12. i think what it means is the fact you need to drive a certain amount of cycles of this speed, that speed, freeway time, local, etc so the computer system has time to build a memory.
  13. all 1.8's have EGR's, buy whatever im sorry you like to keep spreading missinformation. have a great day.
  14. im not saying to use those cheap cig pumps. here in the states you can get a power inverter that you plug into the cig lighter and ups it from 12v to 110v. then just have a normal compressor to plug in and use to air up the tires.
  15. 90-94 auto's did not have a EGR, but ALL 95-99 auto's do have a EGR and my 96 impreza with a 2.2 and 5sp was non-EGR, i went through the yard right now and looked at EVERY manual car and none from 95-99 have a EGR. i work at a subaru wrecking yard... so if we want i can get pictures...
  16. well i got a coolant temp gauge installed and some spare axels in the back as well as tools and a spare so im ready to go. im gonna modd my front skid plate so it is a little more stream line and we are ready to rock.
  17. i know that its cool to have on board air but how many times will you use it. if only a handfull then i recomend just get a power inverter that plugs into the cig lighter and converts it to 110v then run a small 1gallon compressor in the back. alot easier to move around, don't need to rigs anything up and you can move it between cars.
  18. lol ya i almost bought that a few months ago because its a twin to my lifted wagon for spare parts. just run it for a while and make sure it doesn't overheat or be down on power because needless to say, good luck finding another EA82 that is worth a darn.
  19. only auto's got EGR, so any 1990-1998 EJ22 will bolt in, just reuse your old intake manifold. the only thing that is different on the years is that the 96-98's went to a single port exhaust while the 1990-1995 where a dual port.
  20. my last blue EA82 wagon i had that was SPFI on Goodyear ultra grip stock size tires i was goofin around in a marshy field. wrangler pulls in and gets stuck. so i pull out the jeep then on my way out i got stuck. well they had left and its about 11pm now. finally got ahold of my wife and had her come get me, go get a tow strap form wal-mart. track down a lifted F250 that after another hour was able to pull me out from sitting on the frame.
  21. well i will have atlest 2 seats open on my wagon if not 3 if the wife decides to not ride along with me. maybe some tube doors on all 4 as well... we shall see how ambishous i get.
  22. i drive around A LOT in 4wd on my 27inch SSR's and have yet to have any issues. but i did break a rear axel the other day doing doughnuts in a field, go figure.
  23. EJ it, ive done SPFI swaps and noticed it easier to start, but that was it. when the EA82 i had in my 86 tanked i wanted to just toss in another EA, but after trying to find one and coming to the realization that its a garbage engine i put the EJ in mine. now i will never go back and i will EJ swap any EA81 or EA82 car i buy in the future. that is if i ever sell my lifted wagon i have now. just find a better carb for now and put stock size wheels/tires until you go wheelin. save the money for the swap.
