Blow off Valve on a EA82T
The Scooby replied to Levysoobie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
run a BPV. im running 17psi on my stage 2 wrx swap in my impreza, it still makes that sound but im still making full boost before 3000rpms. also i spit a fireball out the exhaust every once in a while if im on the track and runnin it hard for a long period. the turbo gets so hot that it will after fire. i have herd them and others have seen them but no pictures as of yet of it. -
nice, speakin of bead locks have you seen the innertube that you insert inside the tire that way you can air down to like 6psi and air it up and it acts like a internal bead lock, i believe they are DOT aproved, i saw them on x-treme 4x4 on spike TV, that might be a option for ya

you cannot go older on ECU's, you have to find one with the same number or +2 to get it to run. you are going to have to find a way to trick the ECU into thinking that the EGR is there, with a resistor or something. -

Public Service Bulletin regarding EA81 lifts and front axles
The Scooby replied to The Beast I Drive's topic in Off Road
ya im fine on the back with my EA82 with the SJR lift on the rear shocks but thats it. (2inch by the way) and more then a few have seen what i did with it at the evans creek meet. ive only broke one rear axel and that was me wippin doughnuts in a field and went from left to right while on power and it cracks the cage so it would vibrate, that was it. still drove with it like that for almost a week. -
well you can do a header, and cat-back exhaust, it will gain a few HP and TQ but you will also get better MPG. intake's on these don't honestly do much, and there is no chip for them but there is the Perfect Power 6 which is what im gonna put in one of my N/A scoobies. but you can always do what i did, change out the auto and 2.2 to all MY02 WRX stuff.

you will be fine without it, i daily drive and wheel my wagon with the 27X9.50 SSR's and i don't have any problems what so ever.
-
if you do a search i build custom rear shocks for the EA82's with a heavier spring for the back. LMK if you are interested.

it sounds like you are having the EXACT problem i was having and had to pay suberdave to come and fix my cut down harness. problem was that the fuel pump was not seeing a signal that the engine was running, so it would prime, engine would start then stall a few seconds later. you need to make sure that the pump STAYS running while the engine is running.
