  1. I'm finding there is a pretty massive EA-following in Chile of all places. It doesn't surprise me though, when I last visited in 2001 or so there were WRXs and Forester2s running around everywhere!
  2. I don't get a lamp for this code, but noticed a code for the brake system last time I had the SSM2 hooked up, pulled the code and it was "42 - G sensor high friction detected." Did a quick read of those threads. I'll look for a rusty relay, but I'm not missing a tone ring and the code "42" appears to have been given a different function in the 2002 WRX compared to the threads you linked to, which mention "low voltage" as pertaining to code 42.
  3. I went cross-eyed trying to read that and quit after the first few lines. @ferp420 I guess girls and school teachers will be getting all my attention then...
  4. This code was pulled using a SSM2 in the "Brake" diagnostics. This isn't an engine related code, this came straight from the ABS computer.
  5. Before folks get all hyped up on this, no, this is not a selectable air locker. This is a ratcheting differential, not viscous, not clutch type, not helical.
  6. www.subarugenuineparts.com is no longer active, Jaime now runs the online parts department for a dealership in Texas. I use a combination of my local dealership, RockAuto and Amazon to find the best prices. Sometimes Google Shopping for aftermarket parts like StopTech replacement rotor rings, etc.
  7. THIS!!! I've been ignoring the non-op wipers on my RX-RA for the last two years. No blown fuses, damaged wiring or broken components. Turns out that adding that new ground wire from the wiper motor body to the vehicle's chassis fixed the wipers. Who would have guessed...
  8. A sad day indeed Paul... We'll get you back in the game before you know it, in the meantime, send me all your finest parts! KAMEI!!!!
  9. Yeah, I think my leaks are coming from the taillamps and rear "uni-brow" trim. I plan to replace the taillamps soon and when I do I'll run a nice bead of butyl rubber and hope is seals better than it does today.
  10. I don't think the car is actively looking for you to be touching the wheel, they simply tell you to and assume that you are. You should be fine with your spinner, but if you want to double check, call Subaru of America and ask them.
  11. Has anyone had any experience chasing water leaks into the hatch area of their EA82 3-door coupes? I have a feeling it's coming from the taillamps/trim panel, but I suppose it could be coming from the hatch itself too. Anyone solve this problem? I've got two coupes and they both enjoy collecting water in their smuggler's hatches.
  12. Daaaang, just jumped back to the first post... You've been wrenching on this thing for almost nine years Earl! Time to finish this beast!
  13. I'll have to keep that in mind when I replace the rubbers on my coupe...
  14. Very much looking forward to seeing this on the road!
  15. Phew! Yeah, I saw the announcement on IG/FB. The show must go on, thank Fuji!
  16. STI brake lines fit the front of any EA81/82 series car (not sure about Gen 1s though). I can also confirm that STI rear brake lines bolt onto EA82T/XT6 rear disc brake calipers (No idea about fitment to drums), just make sure the caliper is clean where the copper washer will seal against the outer body of the caliper casting. WRX brake lines also fit but if memory serves me they are longer than necessary, but don't quote me. Measure your stock lines, then look up the specs for the STI/WRX lines and make your choice.
  17. If anyone finds a junk GL-10, sell me that wiper switch, PLEASE! Mine is busted...
  18. I'm easily confused. Too many platforms these days to keep track of...
  19. I'm still waiting on parts as well, though I haven't actually paid for anything yet... @Teamemdor What's the word on these parts!?
  20. If the leather is already cracking it's too late to reverse it. The "leather" in older Subarus is not leather, in many cases. I know the OEM "leather" in my wife's '99 Forester S has fabric glued to the back, if that tells you anything... Any leather cleaner/protector from a reputable brand will be fine, just follow the directions. If you do indeed have fake leather, just use vinyl or automotive interior cleaner on it.
