What should I NOT be doing with a subaru trans?
I'll throw this thread out there. Front LSD would cost, but shouldn't be a "hard" thing to do. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49241

Can anyone here translate Japanese?
Naw, OS X also has an International System Preference that lets you select different input methods and pallets to use so you can type in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Whateverelseanese and so on. The real problem is that, without knowing Japanese, he'll have trouble translating the thousands of Kanji, Katakana and Hirigana characters into Romanji, so that he can then input them using his English character based keyboard.

Oh Snap
The thought had crossed my mind that you might just have 74 of them, but can you really blame me for wanting to get rid of another clutterous piece of crap? :-p

Oh Snap
I have a non-modded one lying around...

800+ HP in an STi?!??!
Agreed. We appreciate different engineering feats. I actually prefer the KISS approach in my cars, but I can't ignore what they did with the Veyron. All the interior plushness is useless for speed, but it is dead weight that they had to push. I'm impressed by the whirlygigs and hockeylockers they had to include in order to move such a boat.

800+ HP in an STi?!??!
I'm not saying the SSC is made to be a Sunday driver, or that it should be one. It saved a bunch of weight by being focused on speed. I'm just saying that the Veyron has a lot more to it, and it still pulls of an incredible top speed. There is more to it, and it moves it all. The SSC may have less cylinders and more power, but I just don't find that overly impressive. The SSC has more power, a much more aerodynamic shape (that, oddly, doesn't have a much better Cd than the bus, Veyron) and a phenominally lower curb weight, but it only manages 3.63 mph more on the speedo. Perhaps liking the Veyron more makes me "a little old lady or a ****" (whatever a **** is...?). Oh well. Either way, I'm still more impressed with the engineering behind the Veyron than I am with the SSC's. Btw, wouldn't the SSC be better for Andretti wannabes because it's fastAr? (I also think the Veyron looks better... )

800+ HP in an STi?!??!
I've never been very impressed by the SSC. It's barely faster than the Veyron and doesn't seem like a car you would want to drive day to day. Where as the Veyron is something I could see people comfortably driving wherever they go. All in all, I find it to be a much more impressive feat of engineering. That being said, I'd still rather have the Subie.

My Company had My 84 GL Towed Away!!!
Unless they opened it up and took off the e-brake, it is very easy for them to mess something up. If they did take the e-brake off, the chance is less, but still rather likely. Unless you have some sort of tire slip on at least one of your wheels they bind very easily. I don't have enough experience to tell you what is screwed up, but I'd guess that did it. Love to be proven wrong... :-\

Second generation Legacy?
Psyko replied to Bubs360's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI don't understand what people don't like about them. They're a better looking body and [some] still came with the legendary EJ22. I had a '95 auto wagon with the EJ22 and loved it. Even with 238k on the original engine and tranny I was confident enough to let my sister drive it from Washington State to Texas, where I knew she wouldn't have a free mechanic to trouble shoot and fix big problems. It's still going strong 6 months later. If you like the '95 you're looking at, then I can't think of why you shouldn't get it. Just keep them maintained.

My Company had My 84 GL Towed Away!!!
Haha, that would have never happened to me, with my old '81 wagon. It was so beat and unique that my first day, at my current job, the security guard stopped me, while I was going through the parking lot. They knew they didn't recognize it and didn't think it could possibly belong. Glad to hear you got yours out with little more than inconvenience.

New Camera = New Brat Pix!
When you do, send them my way.

brat won't run at WOT.
If it's there, it'll be just out of view because of where the top of the picture cuts off though. I think the tube my awesomely curvy arrow (drawn with a not so awesome ball mouse) points to comes from it. 9] I stole your picture, I'm sorry. My engine bay does look about the same though, but with more oil.

Don't trust the internet!
I scratched the cylinder number each plug is connected to next to each plug on top of the distributor cap. The engine block has the cylinder numbers on it already, so worst case I forget which cylinder is which and have to clean the block a bit before playing connect the dots.

official build thread.........this is monstaru2
I'd be interested in seeing what happens to the axles if left like that. Whatever it is, I'm sure you wouldn't have to wait long.

Already Made Them Mad
My mom and dad have done Plymouth/Dodge Caravan thing. I'm okay with them, but wouldn't touch the snow with one again. I think it's a '98 that they have right now, and it looses its belt when you hit snow because it packs up in front of the engine and knocks it off (twice now). And don't even get me started on working on that thing. I'd own one, but I'd have a mechanic.

Ronald Reagan's 1978 Brat (article by Drive Magazine)
They all came welded in. It's not uncommon to have them cut out and converted to bolt in though.

So insurance wants to give me...
- So insurance wants to give me...
I apologize if I'm coming off rude or like I'm misunderstanding motives. I'm certainly not trying to say anybody on here is wrong. I completely agree that it's a good value if they're only offering you $130. I was just trying to point out that a Brat's value should be higher than a wagon's, so to always take those with a grain of salt. Sorry about that.- So insurance wants to give me...
I did. I just don't trust their values. :-\- So insurance wants to give me...
Yeah, I'm not buying that.- New Legacy concept
Psyko replied to Psyko's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWow, keep up the good work. Like mentioned, the mirrors could probably still use some work. Not just in color, but in size. Looking at a current Legacy (pic) it's easy to see what size is more useable. Also, I do like the look of the lowered version, but totally understand the plight due to snow since I grew up with the stuff. Raising it would actually be more like the current model and seem to please more people. I'm just one of those crazy people that thinks purpose built and will be lowering his Brat. :-p Other than that, I really like the revised grill. It was just begging to be shorter. It looks especially good in your full front revision picture (pic).- New Legacy concept
Psyko replied to Psyko's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXLooks good. Just two little nit-picks I see: 1. I like the shorter nose you created, but much prefer how close the actual car is to the ground. I just don't think there is anything wrong with Legacys being low to the ground. That's what Outbacks are for. 2. Headlights look good, but because of how short they are the grill looks like it should be shortened/lowered so that the top of it isn't so far above the top of the lights. - So insurance wants to give me...
