  1. Would this include Idaho BRAT's too? Cuz I'm lonely over here and I don't know of anybody else in North Idaho who has a BRAT. And I kinda remember that discussion... Ellensburg is a good locale, but we'd definitely have to ask Robbie about where to have it. Also, would we be able to get sanction from a farmer, or the police, to setup a Rally-esque course? Or at least a mud pit or something like that for "dirty" pictures to be taken. Hey! We could have it in Toppenish! :-p I'm sure there's lots of open parking out there, especially at Bill's place Twitch
  2. I've got 185 75 R14's and they rub when I turn. They're one size taller than stock, so stock may very well be the size you're looking for. But, my struts are shot and leaking. So if you have better struts, you may be able to fit a bigger tire. Twitch PS: My car is a 90 lego wagon w/290k
  3. Well, stupid question, but, did you check the block for any cracks? Your heads may be fine but the overheating may have torched your block. Twitch
  4. Well, be wary and detail check your block, cuz you don't wanna rebuild your top end with a bad bottom end to go with it. (Don't ask me how I know ) And, yes, its easier to do all the head stuff out of the car, but getting the engine out of the car is a royal PITA. It is possible to do the heads inside the car. Clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean. And don't forget to coat your cylinder walls with some sort of flammable lubricant before slapping it all back together so you don't accidentally score your cylinders. Also, make sure your tranny is good before starting all this, and I mean check it, check it and triple check it (don't ask me how I know this either ) Twitch
  5. I always yank the bottom hose and thermostat on my 90 lego. And I open the radiator cap after I get the hose off, so as to not get too soaked by the outgoing fluid. It seems the best way to empty the cooling system. And I use the garden hose to flush it as well. Twitch
  6. I've seen a lot of those and it makes sense how they work, so it should seal a HG, but what else is it going to seal? I can see that stuff sealing off a coolant passage that it's not supposed to. It may work perfectly well and you'll have no problems. But is it really that hard to change a headgasket? But this is only my speculation and thoughts, not really any cold hard facts. Twitch
  7. I'm jealous. I love snow and I think its rather funny that your GL was mocking the Imp in the snow. And why didn't you use the GL to pull the Imp out? I'm sure you coulda gotten a good yank on it :-p Twitch PS: I think your post is gonna get moved to OT
  8. :slobber::slobber::slobber::slobber::slobber::slobber: Gawd its orgasmically clean... How much cleaning and painting did you have to do? How much engine cleaner did you have to use? Can you do my car? Twitch PS: I HATE YOU
  9. Its probably just the bulb color. Find some LED's to put in there. Them suckers will be bright. http://www.ledtronics.com/Products/cat1.aspx?P=C0D5 For easy findings Twitch
  10. ^^^^^^^^ +100 I'm doing the paying out the @$$ idea but building it at home. MPFI EA81TT But yeah, unless you're clinically insane *raises hand* I would just go with an EJ turbo, as already suggested. Twitch
  11. I know! It seems that people are too lazy to shift anything anymore. I personally love a manual car. In an auto, you don't drive, you just exist. Twitch
  12. I was looking at this problem when I re-drill my yota 6 luggers. Cuz I'm gonna have to buy new tires when I put them on (unless I find a set in the JY) And I do not trust the local tire shops around here, so I guess I'll just have them mount them, if they will that is... Hey Mugs, your buddy wiling to let borrow his mounting machine? :-p Twitch
  13. I like the way you think... I've thought about a similar system for my cars, but I'd probably fry something. Hmmmm, 220v ac @ 60hz. That would hurt like hell but leave no marks... Well, maybe not 220, but no lower than 110. Plus I got a BIG stick I keep nearby at all times. Twitch
  14. So, anybody know much about them? I've read everything I can find, and am seriously considering buying one. I won't say how much or where, but I really want it. Anybody have anything good or bad to say about them? I know a Porsche mechanic, so if I need some serious help, I can ask him. But for now, I'm still trying to find his number, so any advice is valid right now. Twitch
  15. Ok, well is this strictly a dragger, or a street racer as well? And yes, 13's on an N/A neon is good, but with weight reduction and a little tuning, an N/A Imp could eat your car alive on anything, but maybe a drag strip. I'm just saying your touching a tender spot amongst us Sube fans because the SRT4 is a total POS wannabe STi. Twitch PS: The caravan V6 in your neon would be amazingly quick
  16. WTF dude?!? You're trading a fine piece of Subaru built machinery for a HEEP?!?! Not cool dude, not cool... Twitch
  17. Just as a warning, we sube nuts don't like WRX/STi imitators. And, unfortunately, this screams wannabe. Sorry dude. If you want to see a real ride that we sube nuts are into, check this out. Or this thread... Twitch
  18. This came in real handy. http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/swap/electrical.html Much thanks to Legacy777 for that. Oh, and the B15 plugs, the AT is backwards and upside down. It helps a great deal to have someone who can understand electrical Diagrams... You can swap harnesses if you want, but I highly recommend this method. You'll have to swap the Cruise Computer if you want cruise, cuz the Auto CC doesn't work with the manual tranny. Dash panels can be left alone, there's no real reason to swap them unless your 90 doesn't have a tach, which mine did. And Idk about the ABS. My 90 didn't have it, so I didn't worry about it. Twitch
  19. Bumping it up for the new crop of newbies! :-p Twitch
  20. Oh yes, Snow tires are worth every penny (if you get good ones) I only have cheapo snows that came with my cars, so I have yet to buy a new set, but they are a huge improvement over summer slicks and even all-seasons. And who says you need 200whp+ to go sideways? :-p Twitch
  21. I have a 90/91/94 Lego! (That I've almost completely torn apart and put back together) So I have a lot of info on first gen legacies. Plus a parts lego, so if you need a few parts here and there... Twitch PS: Go to pull and save regularly, stuff flies through there pretty fast.
  22. I have a low grade Craftsman impact that's pretty good at spinning off sticky nuts and bolts and sinking them down too, but for breaking stuff loose it sucks. It broke loose my fender bolts easy enough, but those weren't rusty :-\ It also works good for lug nuts that are already broke loose. But if you want a real electric impact wrench... Twitch
  23. I'm pretty sure you're right, cuz my BRAT gauge will show 0 psi after a few minutes on the highway (3k cruising) But I have never had a rattle or a knock or a tap come from my engine. So it must be flowing lots of volume, but with not much pressure. And your formula is correct, volume increase=pressure decrease with the same flow rate. aka 2 gallons flowing at 20psi is close to the same flow as 1 gallon flowing at 40 psi, or something like that. Twitch
  24. I don't want to be rude, but I must agree with ^^. He has a point, we'll answer general questions, but nothing too terribly specific. And welcome to the board! I'm sure you'll find the answers you seek. (Must. Not. Answer. Question! :-p) I've got an 85 BRAT, an 87 GL vagon and a 90/91/94 lego So I have a small amount of knowlegde in those ranges Hope to see ya around the board Twitch
  25. You're in the right place, in two different senses of the phrase... This place is AWESOME for info on all kinds of subes. And also, there are a ton of people in your area. I'm sure they'll chime in too Twitch
