  1. +100!! I had one and miss it all the time:-\
  2. They take the oil screen out. But unfortunately, the stuff that clogs the screen in the first place is metal shavings from the main bearing:-\. But again, this was only a problem with the Legacy GT's and Baja turbos. They had a completely differently designed block from the 06+ WRX's, STi's, and the Forester XT's
  3. This doesn't usually happen with the Forester turbos. They don't have the same turbo and motor issues that the Legacy GT's and the Baja turbos have. That and 3500-4000 miles is fine between oil changes if you use synthetic. But regular oil should be changed more often!! And yes, definitely let it warm up and cool down!!
  4. Wow, you'd think they'd see what has happened in the north east and know better!! I hate salt with a passion, along with calcium chloride!! Yeah I have about the oldest Subarus anyone has ever seen around me. It's bad when cars that are 2000 and newer are rusting out already. Sorry guys!! I feel for ya!!
  5. When I did my Brat I used a 220 Mig welder, it was so hard not to burn through. I had to do lots of little spot welds, but had to wait for each one to cool a little before doing the next. Looks good though!! Keep it up, and take your time!
  6. Nice!! Looks pretty solid. Head gaskets are EASY to do on the EA81's, so even if you gotta, it ain't that bad. Nice trade!
  7. I did that once!! I noticed no difference with anything, so I just left it
  8. I haven;t been in this section for a while and I'm glad I looked!! Great job!! Looks amazing!!
  9. Yeah I got that stuff for mine too. I think it's right in the glove box!!
  10. Great job as usual Rob!! That motor looks great!! I can't say I've ever seen one that bad before. Keep us updated on anything more you do!!
  11. Yeah I ran them on Legacy struts for a short bit. Lemme know if you want them. Like I said, I'd give you a great price on them!! But hopefully you find a set locally!
  12. I have a set of 02 WRX springs that will fit on that style strut. I'll let them go real cheap if you want them!! Very nice BTW!! and keep us updated on the fixin up!!

Finally got my longer intercooler elbow. The stock STi elbow doesn't fit well on the stock TD04 turbo, so I had to install a longer one. But I'm gonna hold onto the stock one for when I upgrade to the STi VF39 turbo:grin:
  14. So this is that one that was for sale. Sweet! Glad you were able to get it!!! So what is the exact specs and what not?!?!?! And what are your plans? I bet you're putting those WRX springs in it huh?!?!
  15. Looks like he just added the same hoop that's on the Brat to the existing bumper on the "newer" Brat. Looks cool. When you gonna lift it?!?!
  16. Looks cool!! Love to see some full car shots
  17. I have seen really good results with the 3M headlight restorer as well!!
  18. Sweet!! If you are gonna off road it, you won't believe the difference!!
  19. Nice!!! You still gotta get a dual range for it though!!!!
