  1. Yours is 2 1/4 but they are on 2wd struts, they are a little bit shorter than 4WD struts, that's why I did it that way. I have had this issue before as well, having it aligned half way decent will help too. When you lift it the suspension drops and actually makes the tires point in a little more than before, then whenever you take off, the kind of fight each other and the suspension lifts a bit more than usual in the front
  2. It's not about getting them to high mileage, it's the fact that if you want to have any fun with it on the trails, it's so much better, and more reliable with the dual range. You can do things and have more fun than you ever thought before!! 3AT will go many miles, it's just if you actually use the 4WD much, it will burn out the rear transfer clutches, then you will only have FWD, and the low end torque is terrible!!!! And all this is multiplied when you have bigger tires!! You have done a great job on your cars though!!!
  3. Looks great. That thing should stop real nice!!
  4. Sounds like you could have on pretty easily!! Can you drive standard?? I think it was one of the best things I ever did to my old Loyale auto!!
  5. Agreed. Then the Loyale would kinda be a GL. Tom, you would not regret it!!
  6. Still gotta get a dual range in that!!! Outback looks good!!! Now it's much more like an Outback. Make sure you get an alignment!!! You might need camber bolts for the rear, but could probably get away without them. Great job!!
  7. You still have a S/R tranny in there? If so and you plan on doing any real off road stuff, you probably want to swap it out for a D/R. Looks good though!!
  8. Nice, good to hear it's working well. A video would be sweet:grin:
  9. Great work. I really love your attention to detail!!! Too bad you couldn't bring this with you on your next trip to Maine!!!! I would really love to see this car in person!
  10. Looks great!! Hows it coming?
  11. Nice car!! Try ebay for a y-pipe, I have seen some decent prices on there for them before. And were you trying to sell your other hatch with the plow a couple years ago??
  12. Good to hear, don't give up on it!
  13. From what I can see, it did pretty good. Looks like a great way to solve the rusty tank issue!!
  14. I had this happen to 3 or 4 3 speed autos I had. The transfer clutches burnt out in mine, too much heavy use. I swapped them all to 5 spd dual range, and never had any issues again!!
  15. Very nice!! I love how much time you take to clean, I'm the same way. So how does she go?!?!
  16. That's awesome!! I'm jealous. Can't wait to see the progress
  17. He has had computer issues.
  18. I want UEL headers for my OBS, but I have single port exhaust, and headers for those are a lot more $!!!
  19. Same here. I have used a couple from ebay without any issues
