  1. hahaha. my sube has so many holes it would fill up in about 5 minutes
  2. Check your grounds. My friends and I have had trouble with bad grounds on these cars and that would do it. Sometime the cable from the battery to the car body is corroded or broke.
  3. Did you check the fuses under the dash? I had a fuse blow under the dash that did what you have described. Does it try to turn over? If it tries to turn over but doesn't start then check timing belts.
  4. nice pix. I also played in the snow today, but I forgot my camera. Got high centered on a large dirt mound I had to go over. Very cartoonish balancing of the car with two wheel not touching. I had to come a long it down off and get a better run for it. Took like 4 tries to get over it.
  5. Anyone have pillar guages on their EA82? I have a car that needs a couple extra guages put in it and just wondered if anyone has tried pillar pods?
  6. I know we all know a lot of movies with subes in them, but here is a website that is trying to get all the different cars picked out in movies. I did a search for subaru http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?make=subaru&model=&resultsStyle=asImages I was thinking maybe some of us could help them get the sube count up a bit.
  7. What part did you use to do this? Is it electronic? I have a loyale that needs an oil pressure guage and I like how that one mounts up like that.
  8. That's a nice looking box. I still like a good bandpass though.
  9. Thanks. I have been pouring over the faq's and such. I really wanted the coopers since they seemed to do well both on and off but I can't find them anymore. Darn 14" wheels
  10. I know I want to get some super swampers for my rig. What I don't know is whats the different between them. The TSL is the least expensive. but then there is TSL radial and also SSR. I do a lot of on road driving and want to pick one that will last a while. The TSL says it requires strict attention to pressure on road so I would guess it would be most likely to wear out quickest. Does the radial version last longer? ANd where does the SSR fit? Thanks in advance.
  11. I get a mixed response. Most of my friends weren't sure about it till they road in it. Now they are like wow subarus are so fun. I am the only lifted roo in my area so I am noticed and known for it. So of the offroaders thinks it's a joke (prolly coz I have street treads ), but some of them have been helpfully in building bumpers and skid plates and general tips are where to wheel.
  12. What did you use to do this? Is this like a factory water temp or did you use an aftermarket something? I ask because I have a bad temp guage and I am looking for alternatives.
  13. Umm... Someone correct me if I am wrong, but your shifters will transfer when you swap the tranny and you would want the console too to make the car look pretty so you will be taking the switch with you. And the pushbutton 4wd will be leaving when you take that tranny out. So you will be using your diff lock switch from the rx
  14. HAHA... It's still a full blooded sube in the end. Think of it as a custom hybrid instead of bastardized.
  15. I mounted two 100 watt offroad light from like walmart or kmart behind the grill of a dl. Worked great and stayed out of view of cops when they were off. I think the light were only $29.99 I did not have a/c in the car. That would have made them not fit with the condensor in there. YOu can see them in this picture.
  16. So when is this kit going to be available for sale?
  17. OUCH! Mpeg that sucker. I have plenty of bandwidth if anyone ever needs hosted. I own a webhosting company and I will share with USMB users.
  18. Hey all, I am looking for some input/answers. My uncle is a studebaker fanatic and is curently bebuilding one from the frame up. The original engine only puts out like 75hp and he was thinking of using like an ej22 in it. He is concerned that the car might be to heavy (3500lbs) and I just wondered what you all thought about this. Could it be done and still use the stude tranny? Just using an adapter plate of some sort? Will the engine have an troubles with a car that heavy? Any thing else to consider?
  19. Sorry, too dark for pix of this one. OK. Most of us know that a coupe windshield is taller than a wagon windshield so you can can't swap them, but coupes have a kewl weather strip that catches the water that the wipers throw and lets it channel up over the roof of the car (look at one and it will make sense). I always wanted this on my wagon because when it's raining and my window is down slightly I get soaked. SO....... I pulled the side strips off a coupe and trimmed about a half inch off them and glued them in in place of the old wagon strips. Drove to Cananda and back in the rain and it was awesome. No more water on my side windows. No one else may care at all. I thought it was kewl.
  20. The dual headlights came that way. Someone had hit a deer and rebuilt the front end from an older car. Those wheels on the old one are off a nissan pup. They had a different back spacing and required some "massaging" with a BFH. The Mazda ones fit better, only had to trim the front a bit.
  21. Here is my swimming picture of a lifted 88 DL after we had a severe rain and flood a couple years ago.
  22. Personally this is how I fill in the holes in my yard left by tree stumps, moles, and tractors.
  23. My power steering had a leak in the return hose (I am guessing that is what it is), the little rubber one near the pump. I replaced that hose and filled the resevior back up, but my power steering is spotty at best. One second I have it and then mid turn it's gone. Or I don't have it and then suddenly it's on again. As you can imagine this makes driving dangerous and difficult. Did I ruin my pump when the fluid leaked out? Is there air in the line? Or ....
