  1. You are looking for the FSM (factory service manual) But i dont know who has it or where to download it from Gannon
  2. Well you have come to the right place, there are many well-informed and clever subaru enthuisists on this forum so you cant go wrong I think that the majority of the members will say,... "Keep it" Welcome to the board Gannon
  3. Actually, after seing those pics, i prefer the challenger on that brumby, maybe the spitfires mite suit a brumby more like the WRX Blue Brumby How much cos i like em a lot. P.S Brumby boy,... are u a member of ausubaru.com cos there is a guy who is looking into a group buy of 14" ford gt 12 slotters from ROH with a 4x140 stud pattern for around $100 Gannon
  4. Yeah the spitfires for sure How much, coz they sure look sweet But i am curious, do they come with 4x140 stud pattern or are you gonna do a 5 lug conversion? Gannon
  5. Yeah, Do something that will make people say "WOW, old school subarus are Cool"
  6. Yeah Brumby boy,.. U aint wrong Id love to wander around a junkyard Damn PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE
  7. Sorry, i completly forgot about a link:drunk: I didnt know u had to be a member to read posts,.. try this http://www.ausubaru.com/ausubaru/html/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=4035&highlight= A few quotes: From Wheels Magazine June 1985 ',and during 1985 there will be 20 specially imported RX turbos brought to Australia. The car has already attracted enough attention for Subaru to consider introducing a road-going version as part of its Australia line-up, although that would not be before 1986 in any case. The rally cars are European-specification road machines, and as such come without compliance plates but their new owners have made special arrangement's to register them for rally use only.' 'Subaru also has the equipment to turn them into full-on Group A rally machines. This includes up rated gas suspension, a close-ratio gearbox, improved braking system, a roll cage, body guards, different wheels and even a "black box" system to provide adjustable boost for the turbocharger, since adjustable wastegates are not allowed in Group A.' Here is one of the links to page with heaps of info about this RX http://www.faberit.com.au/RXRally/Pics/Article/index.htm Hope this helps Gannon
  8. There is a current thread on Ausubaru about a 'so called' Mid 80's RX STI Its a good read for those into moddingdoc their RX as there are scanned docs of... Quote: RX Turbo document explaining factory rally parts to modify a standard Subaru RX Turbo to a factory spec rally car. Could lead to some interesting developments Gannon
  9. That was along the ideas that i was thinking. What if you took the aircon part of the vent system (the evaporator/heat exchanger thingy) and used it (it would have to be sealed to take boost) and use it after an air/air intercooler. That would give you chilled air that is less likely to detonation, i assume Gannon
  10. Im just wondering, has anyone ever thought of using the air con to intercool???I have 2 theories,. 1. use the air con condensor directly in the intake system 2. use the air con to cool water to use in a air/water intercooler I must do a lot of daydreaming:rolleyes:
  11. Imagine a soob with locking front hubs U then have 3 modes of drive FWD 4WD RWD Without transfer mods Ohhh yeah:banana:
  12. Hows these The first one is a WRX ej20T in a Brumby with a front mount intercooler The red one is a 495hp Aussie Brumby And the 3rd is a non turbo ej20 (from an impreza) in an L series The s/steel tank is a surge tank for the fuel. Gannon
  13. My origional intention was to use a normal injector Adam N.D.J..... i like ur idea This was taken from the wongleflute Smith Electronics site DC Motor Controller Kit Circuit is designed to control 12VDC mini drill motors or lights with currents up to 1 amp Employs the pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique to send bursts of current to the motor, providing an efficient means of varying motor speed Power source required: 12 volts DC Supplied with components, PCB and heatsink for the switching transistor Optional case (use H-2853) PCB dimensions:43mm x 61mm A$16.69 incl GST One from http://www.fairradio.com/kits.htm DC TO PULSE WIDTH MODULATOR for control for DC motors, lighting, small heaters. Pulse width modulation (PWM) produces a series of pulses whose duration is proportional to a DC voltage. This allows for very efficient control of DC motors and other DC operated devices. Overload and short circuit protected. Input voltage 8 - 35 VDC output current 6.5A. Dimensions: 3.4"x1.9"x1.8". #K8004, $22.95 It uses Pulses of voltage to control the output, which is the same as the ecu doesnt it? (feel free to prove me wrong) I though that if you replaced the potentimeter with a pressure sensor, it would vary the pulses and thus the injector output Just an idea *edit: http://www.solorb.com/elect/solarcirc/pwm1/ is a page on theory and construction.* Gannon
  14. Even though i dont have a turbo,.. I was thinking... The a normal injector is controled by a pulsating voltage and the flow rate is controled by the length of the pulses,.. so If you could make a simple wave generator and have the length of the pulses controled by a pressure sensor, you could have a variable fuel flow through the 5th injector controled directly by boost pressure. Just a thought, im sure there are some electrical engineers about on this board Gannon
  15. Hey pat I am pretty sure that ppl have put the 5sp gearbox from an l series into a brumby so i dont see why you couldnt put the ft4wd box in Yes the splines on the front dif are differnt but shouldnt be a problem BTW ausubaru.com is an aussie forum which mite be of use to you Cheers Gannon
  16. I have serious corrosion on my negative battery terminal Today i had to remove the terminal and clean it so i could start my car:banghead: What causes it and how can i get rid of it Gannon
  17. If the revolution sensor failed, so would the engine as the revolution sensor supplys signal to the ecu, the tacho, the coil and yes the fuel pump. Dont quote me as i could be wrong but i think i am right:rolleyes: Gannon
  18. there was a carb & turbo on a subaru, but is was far from factory. Do a search on quattro san, it was an ea81 hatch that a university modified. Im sure that there is somebody out there who knows more about it than me Gannon
  19. Mine is intermittent, clicks like its goin out of fashon some days, slight tickin some other days and silent some days as well. I read somewhere on the board that its the oil pump gasket? Is it the cam cover gasket or the head - cam section gasket? Haynes manual also says that the oil pump gasket can allow aeration of the oil and cause valvetrain noise Gannon
  20. Dad has a hilux that has freewheeling hubs that are recomended to be disenganged when driving in 2wd mode Why dont subes need freewheeling hubs??? Gannon
  21. why not just take the power window wire that goes to the ign sw and cut it, put a fuse on it and connect it directly to the battery I dont have power windows/locks,.. YET. Conversion is on its way:banana: Gannon
  22. I have the same problem,.. isn't it frustrating I bought new axles and within a few weeks the were worse than the originals Were your axles brand new or reconditioned? Mine were supposedly new but apparently the guy repaints old ones and sells them Gannon
  23. it would only make a difference while the car isnt moving. at cruising speeds, there is more air pushed through the radiator than a fan would ever push I think the biggest concern why did it blow the switch, is there a fault? Gannon
  24. I assume that you have to translate to english I dont understand what you mean by 'spotlight' To me a spotlight is a Light that directs its beam to one concerntrated spot. and i assume that to you a spotlight is an exhaust component Please try to explain your spotlight and we will try to help Gannon
