  1. Is it boiling over into the over flow tank when it over heats? If you suspect the guage you can pick up a cheap mechanical one.
  2. Is it boiling over when it overheats at the guage?
  3. Yeehaww; looks like another fun weekend at Castana! Details on how you dented that fender so well!
  4. Talked to my wife about up coming events for the month of OCT. Pretty busy with family events but here's what I got open. OCT 1, SAT: Helping my brother move but I might be able to spare a few hours. OCT 8, SAT: Should have some free time that day to hit the yard. OCT 15, 22, and 29 (all SAT) are pretty wide open if we want to shoot for later in the month. Anyone else have some dates that work well?
  5. When you get it up to temp. Feel around the face of the radiator for cool spots. That will tell you if any tubes are clogged up. I wouldnt go by what you saw gushing out from the garden hose as an indicator. If you have the money just replace the darn thing I put my eleictric fan on a switch. Ran the switch upto the cabin. Now I run it whenever I'm off the highways and interstates.
  6. Looks like yall had a grand old time. Thanks for sharing the pics. I have a favoriate but I wont say wich one.
  7. I need to hit up U Pull again and see if any EJ22's worth being pulled have come in. Not sure on a date/time yet; lemme talk to my wife about whats up this weekend and I'll reply back here.
  8. in technical terms.... really tight but dont strip them!
  9. What happend to the super swampers ?! Jibs went low-pro?!
  10. Join or talk to a local 4WD club. They will know where to go thats legal. Talk to your state's dept. of natrual resources and bureau of land management about OHV trails, minimum maintanace roads, forest service roads, and the rules for using these trails/roads. Counties also have public land and you can query your county about rules and regulations to access of public lands. For private property you must have written or verbal consent to be on it for any reason. If you don't own it than someone does. If you don't have specific consent to be on it then its illegal.
  11. If you insist on 'catching air' then you better start figuring out how to fix everything
  12. That's why you modify cheap cars; not use it as an excuse to not modify one
  13. You mean Sube-Mart; the non-unionized Subaru super store bringing you everything you need for your Subaru at low, low, prices!

  15. It's still an apples to oranges comparison. Comparing a modified vehicle to a stock vehicle.
  16. A Legacy with super swampers; I dig. Pics of the 4" Legacy lift components?
  17. Need to talk to ppl local to your area. I would suggest joining a club and/or association that supports legal offroading. They will know where to go; thats still legal. You will also be in the loop on fun off road events and get invites to private land.
  18. Awsome; another lifted EJ. Nice increase in ground clearance. As noted above however, ground clearance is but one thing. Those other vehicles have superior live axle suspension travel and gearing Apples to oranges really; but that never stopped me from offroading! Just remember to floor it when needed Rage it (and take some pics of you rage'n it offroad!)
  19. It would appear they were. Doesn't matter out on the sand; drivetrain can slip and release pressure before binding up. How wide are those swampers? Backspacing on rim?
  20. I paid $100 + shipping for some 15" steel rims; set of four.
  21. Does your dad know what you do with his Forester?!
  22. Flush out all that solvant junk now. Fill up your system and be sure to get all the air out. Then drive it around for a half hour and really get it upto temp. Check your heat again, make sure its not over heating, and be sure to top off the coolant system AFTER it's cooled down
  23. Um... spray paint your roof rack. :-p Hopefully your adapter plate comes in soon!
