  6. I just purchased a second fan from a JY for the buggy. I didn't have A/C so I got an A/C fan off another Subie. It's real flat and fits into the pre-drilled holes in the radiator. Works like a charm! Good luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--dual fans. 01 Forester--dual fans.

  8. I considered both of those exact tires. I decided against the mudzilla because of the depth of the tread. I didn't get the outlaws because of the price. I paid $57 for the 26" GBC Dirt Devils. They have an 1 1/4" lug. Some tires have 2" now!!! The problem with deep lugs is they give you a real bad ride until you "plain out". Once you get over 5 mph the ride is not so bad but until then you feel every lug going around on the tires. You don't roll when you first start out, you klunk

Mick, I think someone beat you to it.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=306557#post306557 I believe most of those tires are rated at about #500lbs which is about the weight of a standard ATV. Spread the weight of an ATV over four tires and the working load is not much. However, the average Subaru is around 2500lbs loaded? You'd be seriously overloading those tires if they are rated the same as other 6plys..? Having said all that there are a bunch of ATV tires mounted on Subies. The secret is inflating the tire pressure big time more than what you would run if it were an ATV. I run 2.2 to 3.3psi in my ATV. I run 22 to 33psi in the buggy and it seems to work. I was giving rides in the buggy for the kids at a kids parade over the 4th and my GBC Dirt Devils were pretty cruel to the lawn I was driving on...   10. We need new ideas, this is all good. Too bad it wouldn't work. The weight would be a problem with a setup like the dual dual / trannys and associated drivelines. Seems to me the best we can do at the moment is the divorced transfer case.

  14. Someone sells a rally bar that bolts on the bumper in the grill area. It was on the board a while back but I can't find the thread... What about mounting them on the front of the push bar? After all you'll never push anything with that "Push Bar". You could also make a small metal "Z" type mount bottom could be inserted between the push bar and the bumper using the existing bolts. The top part of the "Z" could be used to bolt to the light. Thus you could raise the mount height of the lights enough to clear the useless plastic push bar? Just a couple thoughts.   17. If I was looking to make a rear park brake, I wouldn't use the HH system at all. I'd swap disk brakes from the front of a donor car to the rear of your car. The disk calipers already accept the park brake cables. It would then just be a matter of connecting the park brake cables, or even a second set of cables and a handle? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=6002&sort=1&cat=500&page=1 When I was talking about looping yourself, I was meaning something similar to a park brake U-turn except unexpectedly while applying the brake with the clutch in. However if you used a second PKB lever and not the HH system that would not happen unexpectedly.
  18. Too Much for Subie!!! I won't tow the SubaruHummer with the Forester. It's generally not a question of can it tow (the Forester could do it)...it's really more a question of can it stop the load and trailer in an emergency situation. I'd think your tires and brakes would be overworked with that much of a load. The most I tow with mine is around a #1000 pounds. What does the manual say? Anyone....   20. I was just messin with you The "Dual Diagonal" braking system was designed to keep the car straight during hard braking. Kind of an early attempt at ABS. Why would you want to mess with it? I've never heard of anyone changing the system like that? The truth of the matter is you could probably do anything you wanted. However it would be a mess trying to re-configure your mastercylinder area. There is little tolerence at the master-cylinder for switching the brake lines around. You'd probably end up having to run new lines to the front and rear. When your finished you'd end up with a system that on snow and dirt would give you the possibility of looping yourself when you started sliding with the HH actuated? What advantages are your thinking you'll find with a reconfigured system?
