'82 Brat fuel pump replacement
What he said! My FPCU just gave out but the pump still works just fine. Pull the wires and see it the FPCU is giving you power to the pump? With the key on. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, still looking for FPCU..... 01 Forester

Welcome to the board! Have you tried several gallons of carb cleaner? I'd think about getting some fresh gas and fuel filters too..... Has the Brat been sitting a while? What is the history of this Brat? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

envious of US subaru owners
It seems to me, you folks down under are just as nutty as the folks are up here. A lot of innovation and whacky modifications come from your neck of the woods then spread to us! You guys still have the dual range tranny! Subaru won't let us have it! (I always knew Subaru liked you more than us) Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--Rhino Buggy! 01 Forester, single range tranny

Fuel Door open.
Sweet82 replied to Sweet82's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI'll try that, I was thinking on trying to move that little latch thing back a bit to catch the groove in he door better. Moving the latch seems as though it may be difficult to secure once its moved? Thanks,

Hot Forester...
I was towing two cycles on a trailer behind the Forester over the weekend. Everytime I got on one of those long hills the heat gauge would shoot up! I ended up turning off the A/C and having to run the heat to keep it below the red. Air temp was low 90's Are Subarus (Foresters) susceptable to overheating just towing a small trailer up some grades? Is this common? On the return trip temp was mid 60's and the heat gauge didn't budge from it's normal spot?

Little puddle of water near front wheel?
Sweet82 replied to urabus1995's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI was embarrased to talk about it till now....... I solved the problem by rigging up some very large "depends" over the front end. No embarrasing leaks anymore!

Herby Derby?
Went to a Demolition Derby over the weekend. As a special feature they had a Herby Derby. This was vehicles with a 103" wheel base or less. You guessed it. Someone entered a 82 Subaru Wagon. He was clearly the crowd favorite but about half way through he took two solid hits to the front and was unable to move after the second hit. The crowd was upset. I was upset too the next day.......when I realized I didn't offer him $50 for the car:-\ Update: Just located the driver by his sponsor and left him a message... (????Motor, tranny, axles, diff, fuel pump,????)

How long will my car last?
Sweet82 replied to Skanky's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYou can't predict individual cars........ You can base a reasonable guess based off the manufacturers track record. I got my 82 Hatch 22 years ago and I'm still driving it. That's what inspired me to get another Subaru. Hummmmmmm.......... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, goes like the Eveready Bunny! 01 Forester, goes like a bat out of He!!, except when the A/C is on.

Sometimes I feel I'm being ignored.
I also never saw your post? But then again I don't have any body panels either:confused: Seems to me newer Subaru fenders, hoods etc... might be something to consider??? People will pay more for those parts. Once you make the molds the rest is just profit!!!!! ........... (Forester with hood scoop)........ Do it! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, custom body armor 01 Forester, ......Hood Scoop?.........

Forester wheel stuck?
I understand that tire size is critical on AWD vehicles so I thought I'd rotate my tires to get the most out of them --- since I have to replace all of them at once to keep the size similar. So........ I was rotating my tires last night and when I got to the right rear wheel..... It wouldn't come off? I tried kicking the rubber part in different places but no go. I tried prying it but couldn't find anything to fit right. Next I took a 2X4 and a #5 hammer and whacked the rim (carefully). No Go! At this point I realized it could get ugly for me or the Forester so I reinforced all the jack stands so I wouldn't knock the car off the jacks and fall. I ended up crawling under the car and beating the rim until it finally started to move off the studs! What a pain in the @$$. Is this common? Or am I just lucky? Just whinning........
