  1. Take Pictures during the process! Inquiring minds want to see! UnHatched did that with his hatch. So Would that be a Bratch?
  2. They sure seem small in the back???? Seems like they are smaller than the previous ones? Did Subaru go backwards?
  3. I hate using the pinch seam (notched) for support on the jack or the stand. My seam is rusty and not trusty. I Jack somewhere inboard on the lower A arm and lower that on to the stand farther outboard on the same A arm. Does that make any sense? Hope it helps. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester Put you PK brake on! Block the wheels!
  4. Me too! It's not a Gen 2 Subaru! No Dual range tranny. It's a snow/gravel road car. No plans to lift it until I can get the (not offered in the US) D/R tranny. Sniff, Sniff...
  5. A guy in Hawaii put one in a brat for Mud bogging. I'm not sure how much of it was really Brat by the time he was finished??? But it sure looked nice... Can't find the link to the pic
  6. If I understand your question, I have a 2001 L and the seats fold flat or are up! No adjustment that I know of??? Hope this helps Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  7. I swear I can tell if the cars coming down the street are Subarus before they even pass. There is just a unique sound that no other car makes. Music to my ears.
  8. I'm jealous..........this sounds fun! Your not going to swing by Utah, are you? Make sure someone takes some "Official Digital Photos". Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  9. So how does it perform? It's hard to comprehend a gen 1 Brat screaming! The Brat grahpics in place of the STI is great! Looking good! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  10. Is there a person, place or club that got the "Modified Subaru" going? We recently traced the history of USMB. We know the history of the board... Question; What is the history of the modified Old Generation Subaru? Is there a founding father of the modified Subaru? What I mean is, who was the first to lift a Subie. What were the first mods people did? Do we know the evolution of the Monster Subie? What is the history of the Off-road Subaru? Inquiring minds want to know! Glenn 82 Subaru 01 Forester
  11. Just because the struts are new does not mean they can't be messed up. How high is it sitting? Is the front end saging? My bet is the springs are good. My .02 Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, still has original struts. 01 Forester, of course it still has original struts.
  12. I still have my 22 year old tire and it looks perfect. I'm planning on running it as my spare for the buggy. My bet is you can find a spare pizza cutter in good shape for spare tire purposes. Do a search on what size tires will fit under the hood. Seem as though this has been figured out before? My thoughts, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer with temp spare. 01 Forester spare with no air!
  13. I was talking to some rock crawling folks here, who run with this guy.... They say it's a little under powered until he hits the nitrous! Hummmmm? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  14. What were the Factory ratings for 0 - 60 ? on those old Subies?
  15. Welcome to the board! There are a couple people I'd recommend. Dr. Outback... and richierich... have helped me with newer Subie parts. Both are great, Give them a P.M. Goodluck Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  16. My Hatch got up to 60 once.......... But I forgot to time it! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer will probably never see 60 again. 01 Forester doesn't like to go slower than 60.
  17. John, On my 82 it was on the fire wall near the steering wheel. I'd look up under the dash between the wheel and the drivers side panel. If it was like mine you should find two Quarter size disks (cylinders) with wire clips in a plastic holder. One of those will work the turn flasher. My bet is someone else will know exactly where it is! Welcome to the board! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  18. Did someone say Buggy? I wanna see pics of this Buggy/Rally car:D Glenn 82 SubaruHummer -- Harbor Freight driving lights up top. 01 Forester
  19. I'd agree, get some cheap Toyota, Isuzu, Chevy... six lug and drill'em. A 4" rim will not hold a decent tire. You'll peal the tire off a 4" rim. Using a drilled rim you can use any tire you want w/o worries. My .02 Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  20. Ok, I'll ask............ What's a feed back carb? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer with a Carter-Weber 01 Forester
  21. I noticed the same thing on ocassion. I looked in my owners manuel and it said this was normal! My .02 Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  22. I always got 25-27. It didn't matter if I was on the road or city, my mileage didn't seem to vary much (when my Subie was still a car). Now I rarely get out of first gear, never been in third yet (as a SubaruHummer). I think my mileage will be way down now the fun is way up! Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  23. In all it's life my 82 Subaru had never been over 72mph. However, before I parked it and converted it to a SubaruHummer, I took it out and went to 74mph then parked it for the last time. I wanted to set a record before retireing my Subie in it's current state. The car is capable of faster speeds, however I never felt like I was doing it any favors traveling that fast. The 82 travels 55mph @ 3000. My wifes old 82 Honda traveled 80mph @ 3000. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer only been to 2nd gear as a Hummer. 01 Forester been 95 uphill..........
  24. Insurance? What's this insurance thing you speak of? I didn't think anyone still had that sort of thing.
  25. Where did you get those seat covers? I wanted camo green or tan and had to settle for camo blue because I couldn't find them. Lookin good! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
