  1. It was a popular add on in those days. If you look at the cars in the brochures, none of them have the trim. I believe it was put on by most dealers when the cars were new, but could have been put on by anyone. I like the trim, it serves it purpose well. My car accumulated only a couple door dings in its 20+ years with the trim on. My .02 Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  2. I put a Cherry Bomb Turbo II on the buggy. Sounds great! Cost $17.00 Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer, 01 Forester
  3. On my 2001 Forester, I have Gas Door written on my dash with an arrow. I'm thinking it is suppose to light up if my gas door is open. Would kinda make sence? My gas door won't stay latched and my dash has never lit up and told me so! I guess I could go look through my owners manuel..... Anyone know? Or is everyone elses broke like mine:confused: Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  4. Twin turbo! I'd be happy with just one:rolleyes: Welcome to the board! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  5. What he said! My FPCU just gave out but the pump still works just fine. Pull the wires and see it the FPCU is giving you power to the pump? With the key on. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, still looking for FPCU..... 01 Forester
  6. Welcome to the board! Have you tried several gallons of carb cleaner? I'd think about getting some fresh gas and fuel filters too..... Has the Brat been sitting a while? What is the history of this Brat? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  7. It seems to me, you folks down under are just as nutty as the folks are up here. A lot of innovation and whacky modifications come from your neck of the woods then spread to us! You guys still have the dual range tranny! Subaru won't let us have it! (I always knew Subaru liked you more than us) Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--Rhino Buggy! 01 Forester, single range tranny
  8. Bump! I'd still like to know the history or evolution of the modified Subaru? Where did this madness start:confused: .
  9. Actually I only have two but don't tell anyone! I have way too many cars to be looking at anymore. My front yard is just about full:lol: Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 88 Trooper 90 Trooper 92 Camry 01 Forester
  10. I'll try that, I was thinking on trying to move that little latch thing back a bit to catch the groove in he door better. Moving the latch seems as though it may be difficult to secure once its moved? Thanks,
  11. You can't stop there! That would make only THREE Subarus! Welcome to the board! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester 82 Wagon (well I'm trying to buy it)
  12. I was hauling two adults two small kids, gear, two Honda Trail 70 (copies) on a small trailer It did the same thing last week towing a Hobie Cat No real weight? What's Red line waterwetter
  13. I appreciate it anyway! .....although I have to agree, it would be nice to see it:lol:
  14. Doh! Maybe I should tell you something about this car before I ask stupid questions about it? 2001 Forester 5 speed manuel. Sorry, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  15. I was towing two cycles on a trailer behind the Forester over the weekend. Everytime I got on one of those long hills the heat gauge would shoot up! I ended up turning off the A/C and having to run the heat to keep it below the red. Air temp was low 90's Are Subarus (Foresters) susceptable to overheating just towing a small trailer up some grades? Is this common? On the return trip temp was mid 60's and the heat gauge didn't budge from it's normal spot?
  16. I was embarrased to talk about it till now....... I solved the problem by rigging up some very large "depends" over the front end. No embarrasing leaks anymore!
  17. Went to a Demolition Derby over the weekend. As a special feature they had a Herby Derby. This was vehicles with a 103" wheel base or less. You guessed it. Someone entered a 82 Subaru Wagon. He was clearly the crowd favorite but about half way through he took two solid hits to the front and was unable to move after the second hit. The crowd was upset. I was upset too the next day.......when I realized I didn't offer him $50 for the car:-\ Update: Just located the driver by his sponsor and left him a message... (????Motor, tranny, axles, diff, fuel pump,????)
  18. Sweet!!!!!!!!! I was also gonna ask what the deal was with the headlight covers? I'm trying to figure whether I like the passenger side or the drivers side headlights better:confused: . Looking Good, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  19. You can't predict individual cars........ You can base a reasonable guess based off the manufacturers track record. I got my 82 Hatch 22 years ago and I'm still driving it. That's what inspired me to get another Subaru. Hummmmmmm.......... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, goes like the Eveready Bunny! 01 Forester, goes like a bat out of He!!, except when the A/C is on.
  20. Bump! If you haven't voted yet.....Vote! I still think the 82 Brat is the most collectable:confused:
  21. I also never saw your post? But then again I don't have any body panels either:confused: Seems to me newer Subaru fenders, hoods etc... might be something to consider??? People will pay more for those parts. Once you make the molds the rest is just profit!!!!! ........... (Forester with hood scoop)........ Do it! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, custom body armor 01 Forester, ......Hood Scoop?.........
