  1. Got a 2001 a little over a year ago and I love it! Great on snow and dirt roads, it feels stable and predictable. It has plenty of power as long as the A/C is OFF! I have replaced a radiator by-pass hose and had the engine coolant recall work done but that is it! The reason I purchased another Subaru is because my 82 has been flawless for the last 22 years. I feel comfortable in the car in adverse weather conditions! Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  2. I think with the current immigration laws, you can register it as a US citizen now!
  3. Wait a minute, only two? Seems like you could fit a few more in there if you parked em differently:brow: I was looking at a Subie just like your white one! Same year, color, model but it got sold before we could buy it. Looking good! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, was very close to being a GL Hatch 01 Forester, was very close to being a White 2001 Legacy L
  4. Those are the best pics I've ever seen! I'm sorry, I shouldn't be laughing at that!.......but it's funny to see a Subie out to sea! They use to float VW's around, why not Subies? Humm......... this gives me an Idea? Still laughing! Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  5. I think the guy is a Stalker......and as long as you have the brat you will be followed by him. My advice would be to sell me the Brat and save yourself a headache:banghead: In all the Junk yards here, there are no Brats but there are XT's. Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  6. And I thought Gen 2's made nice lifted rigs! Wow! That is Sweet!!!!!!!! Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  7. Looks cool so far! Are those three lug wheels? I thought Renault was the only three lug pattern? What are the finished dimensions of your cart going to be? Is there any links for this type of cart? Post Pics when you have them! Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  8. Several folks use the Harbor Freight lights and are happy with them. I have them on the top of my buggy and like them. Get them on Sale for around $7.95/pair. Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  9. Welcome to the board, Post picks of this camper wagon. I've slept in the Hatch a time or two and I'm not short.:-\ Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  10. Congrats, How long is she and how much does she weigh... I assume no problems on the delivery? Sounds like you were able to take her home immediately. How are the other Subies taking it? Post some pics......................! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  11. This was posted a while ago.......... http://www.hovercraft.com/index.html Subies take to the land, air and sea.... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  12. I copied this from the "Older Generation of Subarus" header, Older model Subaru discussion: 360, DL, GL, Loyale, Brat, Justy, Xt, Xt6, STD, RX, RS, GLF, FE, GL-10, GL-5, GSR, DL-5, FF-1, and Rex. So it looks like Justys are barely welcome here:rolleyes: However, the more you modify it,......the more the Justy is welcome here! Just Kidding, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  13. Yup! The Distributor Cap and Rotor and the Spark Plug wires seem to be the magic solution to making the old subies run better. Your distributor is in the front of the engine in the center. Find you plugs on the bottom outsides and trace them into the top front center of the motor area under the front of the air cleaner. Good luck' Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  14. Yup! Spark Plug wires. I noticed twonremtz was kind of a ghost member.... Try the basic tune up and I'll be it runs better. Good luck Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  15. As for the hesitation/jerk, try a new cap, rotor and wires...? My car does this from time to time and a basic tune-up seems to cure it every time! twonremtz Is in Billings and there is someone else who moved there but I can't find him at the moment? Good Luck Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  16. Your doing it the easy way! Brace the motor and tranny and pull the body off the motor, struts, wheels...! I did it in 20 minutes. Kept the running gear in one piece. When you pull your driveline plug the tranny so it won't leak all over.... Good Luck! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  17. OLS, I don't know Jack about your pipe but somehow your resending your message again and again... Try using the "Reply" button and it won't make new threads each time? Welcome to the board! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  18. I second the motion! Welcome, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  19. 86Subaru, Welcome, Harpua on the board here lives in Afton! He drives an maroon RX. I'm sure he'd be a great local source for info on your Subie. Oh ya, one more thing, he might answer to the name of Donny. Good Luck, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  20. I thought old Subaru paint came out of Krylon spray cans! I used bedliner on my SubaruHummer! Good luck Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  21. Welcome, I used to live in Billings:D . Someone on the board here moved up there a while back. I'll research that? Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  22. If no one steps up to claim it.....could you please apply it to my FPCU account? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer still w/o correct FPCU part 01 Forester
  23. What kinda car do you have? My temp sensor is on the RHS of the radiator and has a single yellow? wire attached to it. (82 Hatch) Have you tried jumping power to the fan just to see what happens?:-\ Many folks have just ran a switch to the fan for manuel cooling? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  24. Bythesea, This was an old thread, I have since resolved my suspension issues. FYI I used BugPac coilovers in the rear. I currently have the coils off the shocks because the old torsion bar seems to support the buggy just fine. If I find I need more lift or whatever I can always put the coils back on. Last weekend Harpua and I "ramp tested" the buggy. We were able to get it around "16 off before the rear came off. Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  25. It took a while but, last night, as I was driving home, I finally pulled my clock off while waiting at a stop light. I noticed a small resistor "R510" was soldered on one side and not the other? By the time I got home "R510" was completely off. I got my trusty $3 Harbor Freight pencil soldering iorn out and re-attached it. Magic! It came to life! In the thumbpics in the above post, it is the exact same resistor. Thanks to all! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, clock still works... 01 Forester, clock works again!
