End of the FSCR Many items FREE (Meet at my place...for the last time)
Moosens, I'll try to help out as much as I can! If you don't need to store a Fuel Pump Control Unit with the number 429547014 printed on it. I guess I'd store it for you. It's the least I can do--and I always like to do that! Lemme no if I can help! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer with the carter-webber. 01 Forester

Welded diff people.....
Hey Welded diff people, How are you keeping the dust and dirt out of the stub/cup area when your not running an axle? Like in the city etc... I'm sure someone has dealt with this concept.... I could figure something out but I'm sure someone else has already figured out something that works and I don't want to re-invent the wheel (just make it climb better). I'm just concerned about grime getting in the grease where my axle should be when it's not installed. Thoughts, Inventions? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, welded diff 01 Forester, LSD

Favorite Subie
I have always wondered this.......... Is there ONE model or ONE year of Subie that people/enthusiasts like/want/cherish more that another year or model? What is your favorite model and year and WHY? I'll light the fire.......... My Dream Subie................1982 Brat GL! The 1982's had the Cyclopes light---a truly unique automotive feature Brat because they were just plain different to the US market. I thought the early 80's (82) body style was the first time Subaru had come up with a car that actually had Style! GL because it had all the creature comforts as we knew them back then. It's Done!.........for the most part....
To answer a few questions, I can lift/slide the back end so it's not as heavy as it may appear. The plans say #1275 weight but I'm betting around #1500 when it hits the scales (maybe this weekend). It runs great--just as it did before I carved it up. It really has not been out yet. (except across the neighbors lawns and up some stairs) (suppose to rain here all weekend) The gearing is noticably higher even with relatively small tires. I think it's weather proof enough. The roof has a 3" overhang/drip edge. The dash has the same type of protection against water. I have a garage in the mountains to store it in-doors. ---and even then it will be under a tarp. I didn't make an attempt at registering it for street even though I have full street lighting. I didn't want to deal with yearly emmissions/safety inspection/insurance. DMV would not convert my current reg. to off-road. I ended up registering it as a 2004 Custom made vehicle. Ya there are things left to finish.... fire wall, dash, windshield?, roof lights The pictures can be deceiving. It's not big! Mudrat & Hatchet are the only people on the board who have actually seen "Summer". Hatchets comment was "I thought it was going to be bigger?" Mudrat called it a "Beast". To shed some prospective on the size of the vehicle. Weight #1275-1500 Wheel base center to center 80" Wheel track center of tire to center 62" Wheel width outside measurement 73" Overall Length 133" Floor height 20" Overall height 63" Angle of approach 45 Angle of departure 71 I'd put up some comparison figures for the stock hatch but I can't read them from the brochure section. Most importantly................... THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP! Couldn't have done it with out the members of this board contributing their knowledge and experience. Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

Wagon or hatch?
Your not gonna go wrong either way. I'd look by condition then price and make the decision which ever it turns out to be. Back in 82 I didn't care what model I got, they were all good by me. Ended up with my hatch. Kept it ever since. Good luck in you search, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, used to be a Hatch. 01 Forester, shopped for Legacy, Outbacks...as long as it was a Subie.

Stud stuff!
Thanks Guys, I'll let you know when my secret wheels are ready............? No one has done this before to a Subie! ?????????????????? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

west coast v. east coast
I think I'm the only Gen2 in Utah. They all dissolved from the salt:mad: There is some good though.....................? At any given intersection in the entire city you will find at least 3 Subarus! It's weird! At the busyest intersection in town or a neighborhood stop sign. At least Three Subarus! And there are 38 USMB members here.......so how come I'm the only active one?

Trying NOT to cry over smashed XT.
The only reason I brought that up was, I wanted to point out the "other side" of the colision issue on where this tread was going. I'm a working stiff. I don't have $100,000.00 around. We get these sue happy people dragging people like me into court. My concern what happens when the suit is over your insurance limits??? Are my wages going to be garnished forever? Is everything I ever worked for up for auction? It aint right! My suit isn't over yet and now I have found out that the girl I ran into was in a wreck two years after that. So who's fault is all that "pain and suffering"? There is some good news.....I found out that my policy limits were $250,000.00 so at least I won't loose any personal assets. I have since bumped my policy to a 1 mil umbrella. One final note,........................I like the Black Lotus!

Stud stuff!
Bump Again? Got a new wheel idea:rolleyes: and still need info on the thread pitch and stud length. ( got the other info ) Thanks, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, 26X12X12 Atv tires and ..............in the future? 01 Forester, Factory tires

How to program a keyless remote, 99+ Legacy/Outback
Sweet82 replied to a post in a topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXDo you have a keyless box? I know it sounds stupid.......but even though it may be a "factory" option they can still come with out a remote box! I had the same problem as you! No matter how many times I programmed it:confused: It would not work! I had the dealer try it then he looked in his computer to see if I had it (even though it was a standard feature). I didn't have it on my car! I had to get the black box before my "standard feature" keyless feature would work. I got it from a JY for $15 and it took longer to find the box than install it! (15 min). Check to see if your car really has the box! For what its worth... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer no doors or locks! 01 Forester, Ebay remotes and black box!

Trying NOT to cry over smashed XT.
I being sued for $100,000.00 almost 5 year after I bumped someone. It bent their tail pipe when it hit my bumper! That was the damage! The statue of limitations is 5 years and two weeks before the deadline I get served! Hummm! Someone wants money?

00 Impreza or 98 forester
Sweet82 replied to Smpol19's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe Forester is made out of the Impreza platform. Other than the motor they should be similar in the drive train area. It's a body style / motor choice? The Forester is more sport utility oriented than the impreza. Good Luck Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
