  1. NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get away from the aamoco station now or we will be forced to put your subaru in protective custody and give you a pinto. They are the absolutly WORST place to go. If you google them you will see endless complaints against them. Your car can be perfectly fine and they will still sell you a transmission. go someplace else. nipper
  2. They are either a counterbalance to smooth out the engine, or part of the varible valve timing (which is more likely). nipper Have a link?
  3. This is why you change the fluid every 3 years. It is unusual for a radiator to clog this early. The wrong antifreeze, tap water, contaminates in the antifreeeze all posabilities. And sometimes people are unlucky. Which reminds me, the original poster needs to check his transmission fluid. A leaking cooler and make the antifreeze clump and clog up. With the new radiator the point is moot as far as internal leaks. nipper
  4. Well your doubling the wattage, so yes you may cook things. You need to wire in relays and heavier wiring to take the extra load. nipper
  5. You want whats called "fast ratio" (sorry but quickener was like nails on a chaulk board). As long as you dont do a lot of parallel parking, you can do this. Even with power assisted steering it can make the wheel heavy. How do you wish to do this? nipper
  6. How are speeding up the turning ratio exaclty? Some cars have quick ratio steering, you get used to it, it doesnt affect anything in a negative way. It usually makes the steering wheel heavier. mipper
  7. It can be partially clogged where the AC is just enough extra of a heat load to push it over the edge. nipper
  8. You can always start with the cheap fix, replace the radiator caps. I missed the boiling in the jeep. Man if your guys in the motor pool cant diagnose that, i wonder how the rest of the car is. nipper
  9. Well it sounds like to me failed radiators. Radiators can clog, and/or the cooling fins can fall apart. At this mileage on either vehical it wouldnt surprise me. nipper
  10. Its due. With the mileage on the car, a clogged radiator wouldnt be a surprise. I'm curious, when was the last timing belt done, and was a water pump done then? nipper
  11. Glue? Sheesh thats really cheaping out. Our cars are glued together.... nipper
  12. Age. Dropping the clutch at high rpms. Its not an uncommon thing to happen on clutch discs, along with the pressure plate fingers breaking. Sometimes stuff happens. nipper
  13. Yes... the front 02 sensor has to be a subaru sensor. The rear can be anything. Non OE has a differnt response time and will throw a code. nipper
  14. Sheesh doesnt anyone use google earth? Elevation 390 feet, found a mountain top at 700 feet. nipper
  15. It means that the car is undercharging or the altenator is shot. you need to have the charging system and the battery load tested. Yes it can mean the car can die if demand outpaces the output of the alt. nipper
  16. You can run into that by not even modding the car (any car) just abuse :-p nipper
  17. the owners manual should tell you how to properly anchor a baby seat. If you dont have one i can look at my 1997 book and see what it says. nipper
  18. Your carb can be full of dirt. If its running better with the second tank, let it run all the way down and fill it up again. And like i siad change your fuel filter, and dump some dry gas in. After the third tank of gas, if you still have a problem, i would wonder if you have clogged jet. ALso is you choke closed when the car is cold? Does it open when the car starts (choke pulloff does this job, they can go bad). nipper
  19. You found your problem. Try putting a couple of cans of dry gas in the tank. After you run this tank out replace the fuel filter and reset the carb. the next tank should be a name brand premium, then you can go back to buying real fuel. nipper
  20. Just thinking about it. You can maybe modify or attach a run rack to a modified dog gate that you can get for outbacks. That can put the guns on either the wagon side or the seat side. nipper
