  1. Here is some good info on DIY alignments. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=645484&page=1&pp=25
  2. Take your vin# and proof of ownership to a subaru dealership. They should be able to cut you a "subaru" key for under 15$.
  3. Pretty common I think. My '95 legacy is the same way eventually I will get around to doing this: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=753869&highlight=shifter+slop
  4. Great Idea! This is gonna save me a lot of cussing and time spent laying in the gravel.
  5. I'm considering putting in a block heater. How fast do they "work"? How long before you start the vehichle do you have the timer turn the block heater on?
  6. There has been some outstanding deals on leather kits for foresters on Ebay lately. Right around 200$. You could probably have them professionally installed for that amount or buy some hog ring pliers and do it your self. It's time consuming but not that difficult. I'd stay away from the dealership. Ebay leather kit
  7. So did you use legacy springs or outback?
  8. If someone wants to host I can send 5 mb of wiring diagram for the '95 in .PDF format. It would be easier to read.
  9. They are available in singles as well. I wanted to make sure that the procedure for bleeding brakes using speedbleeders was the same as using the oem nipples, i.e., one at a time. I could see the benefit of spending 28$ vs. 7$ if you could open them all and bleed all the lines at once. However, that is not the case.
  10. Swap in a dual range tranny before you dump a bunch a money into a lift and tires.
  11. The tensioner pully does not bolt directly to the block. It threads into a cast aluminum bracket that is bolted to the block. Pulling the bracket off the block will make removing the broken bolt alot easier or you can just replace with junkyard parts since you need a crank pully, timing belt covers, ect. Good Luck.
  12. If you have switches I would assume you have heaters. I would check for blown fuses. I believe the heaters are tied into the cigar lighter? I also recall a couple of instances of wiring for the vanity mirror lights shorting out and causing the the heated seats to quit working.
  13. My map light was an after thought and pulls power from the dome light. The dome light has power at all times and the mirror needs an ignition controlled power source. Tapping into your sun roof's power may be an alternative to running wires down the A-pillar.
  14. Let's see, 1. I hooked the dimmer disable up to a wire behind the passenger side kick panel. I probed around with the multimeter until I found a wire which supplied 12 vdc when the tranny was put in reverse then used a vampire tap for the connection. 2. I extended and ran power and ground across the headliner and down the a-pillar to the driver's kick. I put a fuse inline of the power wire. 3. As Nipper said, Ebay is where I got mine for 35$. It happened to be out of an '03 Outback but it is not produced by Subaru. The only benefit I can see by getting one from a Suby is that the harness might be plug and play if your putting it in a suby that originally had one. If you have to wire it up like I did then any donnley unit will work. I now wish that I would have gotten one that displayed temparature as well. http://www.cipausa.com/ is a good place for info. They have all the manuals for the various models under "customer service". Things to look for if your getting one used from Ebay: Wiring pigtail, windshield button. Good Luck.
  15. That's a smokin' deal. At that price you can change the pullys out every 60k.
  16. I use the starter to break em loose and the punch/old screwdriver in the flywheel trick when it comes time to torque it back down.
  17. Am I missing something here? Wouldn't you only need one speedbleeder with hose attachment to go from caliper to caliper? Why leave it on the car when your out trail riding? It would be safer in your toolbox.
  18. I replaced my rack bushings with the exact ones pictured above with no improvement.
