Just a bump to let new members (and old members) know the chat is still alive and well! If you are surfing the internet with Internet Explorer, you can expect problems with the way the Chat Room looks. This can be fixed by switching to Firefox

Gardnerville, NV wheeling Saturday 11-7
I get paid tomorrow, rent is due today. That $335 speeding ticket i got in Alpine county is due Thursday and Im trying to figure out who to please... the state of california, or my land lord. Needless to say, i dont even have $10 to put in my stomach, let alone gas to put in the Brat. Give me 2 more weeks, and I should be able to.... wait, no, insurance is due on the 17th. FARK!!!

Garage Cabinets...
Cabinets will do a good job of hiding my collection of aerosol cans. Its a direct violation of my lease, but my landlord will probably never lay eyes on them. However, its better to be safe than sorry. I have shelfs now. And they collect clutter. Shelfs are nice for holding my camping gear.

Garage Cabinets...
Yeah thats what I was thinking myself. My workbench does need a new top, i never thought of scavenging old countertop though! Great idea.

Garage Cabinets...
So, i came to realize my garage has a lack of storage, and cabinets could be a cheap solution... (or a real expensive one). Lets see some pix of your garage cabinets... maybe where you scored them, if you got a killer deal or something.

Rolling Tool Boxes....

which tire for 14"pugs?
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html That is the best tool EVER when it comes to finding propper tire sizes. If your 205/70R14s rub, plug that in and figure out how low you'll have to go to get clearance. Dont be affraid to buy a hammer and use it. These cars were never offered with anything larger than 13" from the factory... there was probably a reason for that.

waterproof the disty
Yeah, right after that trip I started looking for solutions to waterproof my disty.

Rolling Tool Boxes....
So i have been spending weeks trying to sort out the mess in my garage. Today I did enough to take pix and attempt to show it off. Here you'll see my Toolboxes & work bench. This is the opposite wall of my garage, with my other workstation. Here is where the failed RC experiments were held. Along with a few toyota tid-bits, wiring & small jobs on the brat. Tomorrow I plan on taking a load to the dump and can finish the rest of the cleanup.

Jibs' EJ Brat
Have you figured everything out now with the engine idle and whatnot? Let me know when you wanna drive this thing down to Sacramento

waterproof the disty
Goto the junkard and look at anything that came with a 22R or 22RE. You might get lucky and find a boot for the distributor cap. I had one for my old wagon and it worked pretty well. I found that RTV only made it harder to fix the disty whenever it did get wet.

I need a permanent solution for these stupid EA81 exhaust studs.
Thats going to be my final step! Stupid EA81's... i have NEVER owned a EA81 that i havent had to d!ck with the exhaust studs on. So I just finished the job. Ran heli-coil into the spacers, installed new studs and snugged them up real tight. So far, seems to be better than my last attempt. And a short drive to the bank & back, and finally I dont have to crank my stereo to 22 to enjoy it (although, i do anyhow).

I need a permanent solution for these stupid EA81 exhaust studs.
Yeah forget all that nonesence. Those spacers are rust-welded to the bolts holding them in, and there is no clearance to get a socket around the bolts. After I looked alittle closer, the spacers have pipes running from them... and that would be another headache. My M10 heli-coils fit real nice into the metal spacers, so i tapped the spacers. Im about to go run the heli-coils after everything drys. Thinking of using Red Threadlocker as well when i assemble everything.

Air soft pellet tire balancing
This is something I want to do with the 35" swampers on my Toyota... You can never keep swampers ballanced... ever!

I need a permanent solution for these stupid EA81 exhaust studs.
I got metric studs, M10x1.5 & heli-coils to match. I think im going to try and remove the spacers and drill out the heads. I had thought about tapping the spacers.... i guess that'll be the next step if these dont work.

I need a permanent solution for these stupid EA81 exhaust studs.
4 months ago, i replace my exhaust gaskets. I notice my exhaust studs are in need of attention. I make them work, but then 3 weeks ago I was forced to replace the gaskets again. Knowing how bad a shape my studs were in, i went and bought a heli-coil kit... new studs, and went to work. Well, I found that my engine has those stupid cast metal exhaust spacers on each head, and it prevents me from getting to the threads in order to repair them. So I kinda just did a half-rump roast job, with some JB weld. Here we are, 3 weeks later. My exhaust studs are now missing (at least it sounds like it) and I am forced to do the job again. Im not going to do it a fourth time, so I need some tips/tricks/hints on how to accomplish this for good. Finding metric studs are impossible. Im going to be forced to use SAE, and heli-coil. But first I will have to find a way to get these stupid exhaust spacers off. THe bolts holding them to the head are rusted pretty good, I started to round one when trying to get it off the last time.
