  1. Northguy, its good to hear you got your lift and it seems like you tackled the install without any snags as well. Congrats!! I ran into a rear brakeline problem on my lift as well. Turned out there was a clip on the rear of the torsion bar I didnt see. When should we expect to see some pix? -Brian
  2. What are the main differences between these two? Was the TD05 a subaru turbo? or is this an aftermarket piece? I have an opportunity to get a TD05 with a AWIC setup, but im not sure if its worth the trouble from swapping a VF11 for the TD05? I will get the AWIC regardless, and when I do i'd like to increase the boost to somewhere closer to 10psi. Also, would anyone have pix of the swap? Thanks guys. Oh, and this is for a EJ22T in my '92 Legacy SS. -Brian
  3. The bearings have a 20% chance of making it. Thats if you live in the Lower 48 where the freeways are straight and cruise a constant 60mph. There in Alaska, on your roads... there's a 5% chance you'll make it that 800th mile. Do you have a parts car? It might only be one bearing, and if thats the case you can remove the entire lower steering hub, and install that on the sube to limp it along. I had to do that with a brat. If the bearing fails, your looking at a siezure. It wont do much harm to anything but the bearing, but it will leave you stranded and the car un-drivable. Also, at that point, when the bearing is that bad and destroyed, it makes it a pain in the rump roast to remove. -Brian
  4. FREE! FREE!!! Not to mention the other deals... well, what I'd consider "deals". Anyhow, looks like a good score. Will this turn into parts? or turn into a monster? -Brian
  5. I'll join the procrastination club. Many here who have dealt with me know. Just ask Shawn what ive been putting him through with this tailgate i got for him. (ITS ON THE WAY TOMORROW!! I SWEAR!! :-p ). If his email isnt working, im not sure there's much you can to do track him down other than meet him at his doorstep. You have his snail mail address... have you tried to send him a letter? -Brian
  6. I did an oil change, and it was still clacking. So I took it for a drive to the Gas station... got there, and it was still clacking. So on the way home from the gas station, I hammered on it. Screamed through the 1st four gears on the on-ramp, and made it home in record time. Got home, and the clacking has stopped. We'll see if it does it again tomorrow. I think it was just crying out for attention. I think i will drain some of the oil and add MMO (Kragen was out ) then drain it all and do another oil change later to make sure all the gunk is out. -Brian
  7. If im going to do an oil change, would it be bad to use a type of addative before hand to clean the crankcase?? I dont want to if its going to damage the turbo, but i'd like to do something to clean most the gunk out of my block. -Brian
  8. I know its common for the lifters to tap. But this seems exessive. It recently started. I dont have a oil pressure gauge so I have no idea what its at. There's no oil light on tho. I checked the oil for or 5 times and it always said it was full. The other day i checked and it was low, so i filled it. That solved the clicking for about 20 miles. As soon as I got to my destination the clacking was back. That was last night and now it seems louder. Is there a place i can tap into the pump to install an aftermarket oil gauge? I'd like to add a boost gauge as well so if anyone has any suggestions that'd be great. Thanks guys -Brian
  9. Yeah, ive been searching Corky But i cant find any. I'd love to get my hands on a set and have them powdercoated black. I dont really care for the silver or gold. -Brian
  10. There is a lifted Brat that's somewhere in Chugiak. I saw it on muldoon when I was in highschool ('97 or something). But it was painted flat black. -Brian
  11. tires and rims were my largest expense. Almost as much as my lift, Bumper & Rack combined. $150 for a set of decent tires, mounted and ballanced cant be beat. Make sure they didnt rummage through your lift kit when it gets there. Here are some pictures of all the parts layed out. And also in the area's in which they need to be bolted to the car. It should help as a refference for when you get yours: http://www.subaru4wd.net/New/lift/lift.html -Brian
  12. They dont call them RS's here Although i wish they would have. They are just known as Legacy Turbo's. The sedans are sometimes reffered to as Sport Sedans. I love those wheels. Thats what im thinking of doing with my Legacy. -Brian
  13. Car will be ready in a week or so. -Brian
  14. I have Sega GT for my PC, and it doenst have an XT. -Brian
  15. Is there still snow up there? I need to get the front end fixed on my Wagon. As soon as the '78 is gone i will have room to work on my '84. Also, now that i have weekends off, its time for some camping trips. -Brian
  16. LOL Somehow i knew. I think i know who it is, but whoever it was please send me a PM so i can arrange some sort of payment. And sorry Zap, but even Uncle Sam has to wait this year -Brian
  17. Ursalia, your right... it would be better. You have the permission to edit your original post, and if you'd like you can change their street address to their city, state, zip. Im just trying to prevent other viewers from paying him an unwelcome visit or anything. -Brian p.s. If you'd like to display your own address thats fine. I just edited all of it 1st, then read your post. Didnt even realize it was your own. I appologize.
  18. North Ursalia: I edited your original post and removed the address's included. I understand your frustration, but we must respect an individual's personal privacy, and without the persons consent i dont find it apropriate to publicly display his Home Address. I also hope you are able to get things resolved. -Brian
  19. Need for Speed 1 SE has a EA81 GL Wagon in with its traffic, but you cant drive it. Never heard of a copy of NFS with an XT. -Brian
  20. The rims would be stamped with "390" on each of them indicating wether they are or aren't 390 rims... incase the seller doesnt know himself. Also, the tires would say 390 on them instead of R15. -Brian
  21. I can put together a sub-domain for the WCSS page. If you want, we can make it something like http://wcss.usmb.net or wcss6.usmb.net Let me know, that way we can include it with the flyers. Im working on directions from certain routes. if people already have convoys planned with meeting times, please PM me and let me know an Address and time to meet, i will have maps with routes, travel distance and estimated costs for multiple departure routes. Dave. We need to get together and start planning our convoy. Should we have Sacramento be a meeting place? or maybe farther north? **EDIT***Ok... i saw the webpage and it looks so good, i cant help but make a redirection page from usmb.net. The URL is http://wcss.usmb.net Should take you to a portal page with the flyer, if you click on it, it directs you to the official page's link. Might take some time to become active for ppl on the east coast. -Brian -Brian
  22. WRX1AB welded rear swaybar brackets to his '81 DL Wagon when he put the RX suspension and diff in. Me and Shannon SF ended up taking out the entire rear torsion bar setup with the swaybar attatched and it looked like it would really help the rear end handle the weight of the wagon in turns. -Brian
  23. Well, he didnt get TOO reamed on the clutch. Cost me $1100 in parts and labor to have a new clutch installed in my Legacy. But that included flywheel work as well. Also, when i got my car back i knew i could trust the work because I know the mechanic good, and (this is the MOST IMPORTANT) I spoke to a few of his customers who all recommended me to use him. That is the key... know who it is your taking your car to. If you cant do it yourself, its good to know someone who can and wont rape you in the meantime. I'd hate to say it... but if this is some shadetree tractor mechanic with no license and you have no reciepts then your probably screwed. Then it'd be time to take the law into your own hands. -Brian
