  1. Runs great with the correct intake. Thanks for the help. Larry
  2. Stock Subaru clamps are great. I also pull the BMW clamps an upgrade from the standard worm drive and they have rounded edges so they don't cut into the hoses.
  3. Crank gear was off 1 tooth. Runs much better, still have to swap the intake.
  4. When you put it back in pull the radiator trans hose and let the old fluid pump out and keep replacing with fresh. It usually takes me 3-4 gallons to do a flush on the trans this way.
  5. If the crank will hole the key, a new pulley and the proper torque should do the trick. There is a aftermarket repair that uses the holes in the crack gear to hold the pulley with dowels. I forget who makes it.
  6. The crank and drivers side cam gear were swapped over. Old vs new style, totally different. Thanks Shawn for the heads up. As soon as I get back I'll be able to continue. Hopefully have an update on Sat. Larry
  7. Thanks, the engine was from a 2000 Legacy into 2002 Legacy. I'll double check the timing and swap the original manifold onto it. Thanks, Larry
  8. 6 point 12 mm socket on the 1/4" ratchet. Put a 14mm wrench on the ratchet handle to give you some leverage. Yes you can pull the TC with the engine. it's tight but it will come out. Larry

Nice, I'll have to look at the one I just removed for failure. Thanks for your time and effort, Larry
  10. I picked up a 2002 2.5 Subaru Legacy with a hole in the block. Helps to keep oil in the engine I had a 2000 2.5 engine from the yard. I installed it today and it did not start, a quick look at the crank gear confirmed they were different. The 2000 had the old style and the 2002 had the new style with numerous teeth. I swapped the crank and Drivers side gears (Thanks Shawn) and it did fire up but it's missing. I need to double check the timing as it was getting dark and cold. But other than the timing is there anything else that needs to be changed? The 2000 does have the additional airbox sensor and vent hose. I was just going to pick up the matching air box. Thanks Larry
  11. Water temp sensors can cause it to run rich. When you changed the cam sensor you got or lost spark? You might be flooded from all of the start attempts. If you have spark try putting the gas pedal to the floor and holding it there as you crank to try to clear the cylinders of excess fuel. Larry
  12. Yes and Yes Fan is most likely the resistor pack down in the ducting behind the glove box. Cruise can be swapped you will need the switches, unit and plumbing and the computer and also the Switch in the dash and steering column. If it you can get it all out of your old car then you can get it into your new car.
  13. The foam is pretty easy to switch as well and you can pull it from the passenger side on the parts car and it will fit your drivers side.
  14. Yes Trans Mount Clutch/Brake peddle assy Clutch/ Flywheel Drive shaft Rear Diff gearing has to match Little electrical wiring Starter
  15. Idle Air Control Valve is the P1507 code. I had the same code on a 95 2.2 engine I just put in a 98 Outback and I marked the position of the control unit on top of the IAC and then pulled it off. Made sure the valve was free and since I had another unit dropped it on. No further faults. Your newer engine is a little different. Might want to try Seafoam first.
  16. I don't know that you can get in there to repair it. Used on would be the easiest.
  17. Yes, the same. Just make sure you have the same ABS Sensor location and you will be all good.
  18. If it does it again, you can do the manual release of the shifter and put it in Neutral and see if that fixes the problem.
  19. Auto or Manual Trans If its a manual make sure the clutch is pressed all the way down.
