  1. First, you need to put the intake from the car on the motor. That should kill your cel. My guess is that you may have a weak or slow to pump up lifter. It will need to rev or run at a sustained rpm to recover. I also doubt that you have a bent valve as you state it runs fine between stated rpm range.
  2. That looks very familiar to me... Oh yeah, my '85 Brat has the same one, with the Nardi shifter also.
  3. Tom(owner) is top shelf. He's been in and around Subaru for 20+ yrs. You won't get any screaming deals but if he has the part it will be right and shipped quick. If you are unlucky enough to not live within driving distance of the shop.
  4. I believe there are a couple of those in the tools I got a while back. No, I still haven't gotten to them. I will one day though.
  5. It's been done. lift kits, suspension lifts and full frame lifts have all been done to the XT/XT6. The easiest will be the lift kit install. PK is the one to see for it. Very user friendly install.
  6. I like that. Good idea, let's get started early this year.
  7. First, let me say that this decision affected me as well. I had a signature that I enjoyed. It pained me to shut them down. So, when you complain and whine about not having them remember that others are also effected. Including almost every mod and admin here. Second, This was posted and then made into an announcement viewable in every forum. Yet, noone chose to simply follow the rules and comply. Guess what? Problem solved because all members chose to try and ignore the rules the option was removed. So, in reality, the membership chose this. It was viewed by many and still noone did a thing about it. Some were asked directly to remove controversial signatures. And following discussions decided it was best. Except for one individual. The fall out from that single member caused this as much as anything. This is the way it is for now. Maybe, like the O/T forum, it too will return sometime down the road. However, the initial feedback is positive for the removal of said signature options. Less stuff to weed through to give or find info. I hope that this will be the end of it. If not, then I will delete every post regarding sigs period. This site is a privledge to enter not a right. Follow the rules or not. But remember, the door swings both ways.
  8. It is for the manual transmission.
  9. Naw, just pokin' at you Corky. But, I am right on that point. It will become very competitive and there will be many protests. It will require a mods list and someone with knowledge will have to do spec to verify such things. These new rules and classes will run into many snags as written. First time will require a few rewrites and revisions. Hopefully, any and all critizism will be seen for what it is and the powers that be will see the points rather than thinking it is an attack on them.
  10. Oh h_ll no! Anyone there that knows Subaru will protest that car. Even with the ballast disadvantage. I think you'll find that it needs to be USDM to be stock. If you want to play, play with the right people.
  11. PK, it will bolt up just like the 5 sp. Change the bellhousing, not! You may need to change the axles to match but I don't know for sure. You may also have to tap tap the tunnel to accomodate the larger anchor you're about to install. Good luck!! Definitely will need the Comp and wiring to boot. Is this much work going to be worth it?
  12. 2.7 on the stand for 6 months +. A couple of others as well. Definitely FOS!

    Yes.

That would be unsafe for a number of reasons. Heat being the biggest. Double wall pipe would make it very expensive. Besides, wouldn't it look a bit odd? The turbo crossover has been used on a N/A motor with success.
  15. Napolean Dynamite said it best... IDIOT! (Sorry)
  16. Well, since I was called upon I guess I should show up. I knew there would be flack from this. I didn't, however, think that it would have come from someone a little more knowledgable and intellegent. I guess I was wrong on both counts. The rules are the rules. There will be no exceptions or exclusions. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/announcement.php?f=2 The rules are very clear as what is acceptable. These guidelines are how it will be. Fight this and the Administrators will have no choice but to turn off signatures and avatars. The membership has the choice but there will be no discussion regarding it. Any and all posts dealing with this in any forum other than site help will be deleted immediately and the poster will risk a temporary ban. We are very serious about this. I am tired of putting out fires and babysitting. Let's just go back to Subaru's. That is what we are here for isn't it? Very dissapointed in you as well Vicky. As a guest in my home you should know better. I guess we all have to live with our decisions.
  17. All I need to say is make sure you have a good support crew and bring spares. The BAJA is no joke. I am not sure either will finish but I wish you good luck to complete it.
  18. How'd the cam look? People need to realize that some is good and more is bad!
  19. Plus the fact that my trans was in 3 cars that I know of. It was in the '86 wagon I pulled it from. Then my old Hatch. Now there was a hard life. Then into my Brat. My guess is over 200K on it. And it was weak when I put it in the Brat. Reverse was going out and it ground a bit going into 2nd. Got to love it though. It's all good Tex. Not everything can stand up to the abuse we put it through.
