  1. I need some parts brought up from Portland in a couple of days. Is anyone going to Portland or coming to Seattle between now and this weekend?
  2. The telescoping portion of the column is much larger requiring a larger hole in the wheel. It will not fit any other EA series cars.
  3. Hey, it was good to meet you. I will check to see if you left one behind. Ken
  4. Sorry Corky. I didn't see this until today. I had people over today and wouldn't have been able to leave. I might be able to sneak away tomorrow if you still need help. I'll know for sure tomorrow. Ken
  5. Sounds like the rubber mount has broken. It should be held up to the under side of the body by one nut. You can find them in junk yards and possibly the dealer.ts stores will not have them.
  6. I don't know curb weight but a sport wagon is about 200lbs heavier than an XT6.
  7. Mark, a majority of it is driver. After stating for the last few years that a Brat couldn't compete in open class I set third fastest combined scores for the day at the last rallyx, In an '85 BRAT. Although Bill P. handed everyone their heads that day. After the work you have done so far the RX would be competetive. See you in May.
  8. Sorry, but a 10 second Brat/Brumby is not ricey. Maybe instant ricey!
  9. Finally. You want to come down here and do it? I'll be around all weekend and will have car people in and out all weekend. You're welcome if you want to.
  10. They are the correct pt#. Some internet searching found that the number is still good. They are still available and run around $38.00 ea. This doesn't include the springs or attachment hardware. Odd thing is that the XT6 uses a different pt#.
  11. My bad, it will bolt right up. No worries.
  12. Yes, a 2.2 will bolt into the engine compartment just fine. All that is need is the original intake. It will bolt up fine. We were looking at the kids 1.8l Imp and Zap's 2.2l Imp/ Most things look identical including the transmission. Is that possibly the result of ping or predetonation over time?
  13. No, what that eliminates is the clutch. If the T/O or pilot bearings were bad they would change their pitch or go away completely when pressing the clutch. The internal bearings or gears for that matter will still make noise if bad. The noise may or my not change when load is placed on the trans. EDIT Actually, how about this? Caught this in mid thought.(getting old sucks sometimes) If there is not any change when shifting or when the clutch is pressed. What about the rear main bearing? Have you checked for any debri in the oil? Just a thought mind you, but the trans issue seems to odd.
  14. The LSD will work fine once you convert it to 3.90 ratio. I have run them without rear sway bars but also in 4WD/FWD modes. Sway bars help to eliminate body roll in corners. You should be OK without the rear sway bar for now. It does help improve the ride though. I added a GL10 rear sway bar to my Brat last year. Much tighter in the corners. It's not an Impreza by any means but it definitely improved it. Follow this procedure in the USMB online repair and mod manual for the conversion. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/article.php?a=36
  15. This was in the post right above yours. Without the belt the waterpump and alternator would be stationary and therefore not related to the problem... It could be an internal bearing on the trans. Try Snnowmans idea of removing the clutch cable and moving the clutch fork by hand. See if the noise changes at all. If it doesn't I would guess internal problem.
  16. You said you replaced fuel filter. Which one or both? Yes, there are two. One in the engine compartment and one under the car in front of the tank. Chances are the engine compartment one was replaced many times and the other has only been replaced a couple times. It always seem to get forgotten.
  17. They obviously do not understand TSD. It should not void warrantee. As described. Most people associate rallying with racing or WRC. Tsd is a fun way to race, or compete rather. Navigational skills and communication between driver and navigator are key to this. Not speed. Maybe take the rules overview into them so they fully understand what you are doing.
  18. Try this link, http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29053&highlight=subaru
  19. After reading 10 pages you should know that he hasn't sold one yet or produced pics yet. Let's not start another 10 page thread that goes no where.
  20. You'll need to post a year. May not matter but it may very well depend on year.
  21. Looks like a standard GM alt to me.
  22. Hey Connie, If it is 4WD/AWD it may be worth it to swap your good motor into it and have a 4WD wagon. Checking it out costs nothing but the drive up. Might be a cheap up grade for you.
  23. Been discussed many times at length. Try this thread, http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29053&highlight=subaru
