front camber question
Your tires look like this? \ / or like this? / \ If it is the first one then I would guess that you have your suspension cranked up. If it is the second then you have a weak or bent strut. A camber plate will help but is an expensive alternative.

RX Body Kit ----> Brat?
Yes, it has been done. I know a guy up here that did it. It looked OK but not what I would expect from a Brat. Sorry but I don't have any pics of it though.

LSD Q? do i need the trans also??
Yep!

LSD Q? do i need the trans also??
If you install a turbo trans in place of a non-turbo you will be deeply dissappointed. Do the diff swap as stated in the USRM. I have done it a dozen times and it pays off.

premium in 89 spi in seattle?
Stay away from AM/PM. The water content is higher and your gas mileage will be lower. I run Chevron or 76 EXCLUSIVELY! Try them and see if that helps but... Brian(Subaru Guru) is usually right so it pays to listen to him.

USMB turnout for this weekend's Rally X? 3/20/05
Jason, Geo-crap sucks. Just post your pics to the gallery. It works easy and then you don't run out of bandwidth when everyone is trying to look at them.

Looky what I found.
The grill is '86. The painted bumpers say it should be an '87 or newer though.

Rally Xers Beware (praying for rain)
Thanks Eric, the car handled just as you said it would. Tires worked great. I think the school helped me a bit. We'll see what we can do about the power. But, we may not need it if all goes well with the new one. 41 people took the rally/driver school. I think there were 2 or 3 in the top 5 of every class if not more. Proud Daddy moment! My daugther took third in light truck. Less than a second behind Ed and a couple of seconds behind Brian. I time only drove in the afternoon. After the first run she was a second behind me on the first run. Scary thing is she is only going to get faster!

Need help with a logo for this year's WCSS
Adam, check the logo's from last years show. Oregon show had Oregon logo. Kind of makes sense that a Washington show would have a Washington logo doesn't it? Enough about the Washington Subaru Show. This is a West Coast deal. And until someone else steps forward and takes some leadership to start, run and completely set up a show we shouldn't be expected to drive all over the west coast setting these up. We didn't get any kind of reembursement for any of our mileage and gas expenses. We set this up because we thought it would be nice for some of the southern people who have travelled many times to northern Washington. And...let's not even start talking about long distance phone bills. We want everyone to come and have fun. This should be the best yet.

Need help with a logo for this year's WCSS
Wow, that's about 2/3 of the miles we logged setting up the Oregon show. Glad that a some of you are willing to drive a bit to hang out at our little shinding.

REVISED thread - Never seen this before!
Sounds more brake related. Is it only after driving at speed and then slowing, right? Do you use the brakes to slow down with or just coast?

New Lift Kit on the market
First and formost, selling is done in the market place ONLY! Second, these appear to be pretty big claims. Let me see if I understand this correctly. You built your own kit. Put 10K miles on it and didn't find the flaws until you compared it to a BYB/Ozified kit? 15 degrees of increased stress put on the rear axles. That's alot for those of you who don't realize it. Pictures will provide a bit of proof to your claims. Thanks and please keep all further sales pitches to the market place.

(prizeless) Contest: Guess the Problem
I said I was done picking on Rob...not anyone else!!

EA81T to MPFI EA81 :)
'84 doesn't guarantee hydraulic. '83/'84 with autos are hydraulic and anything from '85 on.

(prizeless) Contest: Guess the Problem
Well, Rob is a killjoy, :-p But, is it the headgasket? OK, I'm done picking on Rob for tonight. The only possibility that someone hasn't stated is a bad carb baseplate gasket. Is that it?

New clutch slipping
Also find out if he used thread sealant on the flywheel bolts. Without it oil can seep through the threads and get on the flywheel side of the clutch disc. The threaded holes go completely through the crank and are exposed to the oil from the crankcase. There is also another possiblity. When turning the flywheel there are two specs for the 1800 for flywheel depth. OHC and OHV have two different specs and the difference will enable the new clutch to slip and to not be adjustable.

'88 Xt6
That might have to do with the fact that it was made in the 80's! Good power, pretty user friendly controls, many wheel options unlike other 80's Subaru's, already has alot of the good parts like 20mm sway bars and 4 wheel disc brakes. There is room for performance improvements but most find them fine as is. The only real inherent problems with these are the steering system and the air suspension.

TPS Questions for my RX
Hesitations on turbo cars can be directly related to timing, vacuum leaks and carbon build up in the hoses. A good tune with quality parts will help. You'll need to play with the timing a bit too. Also, go through ALL the black hoses on the engine. Look for hard, brittle and cracked ones. Replace as neccessary, most if not all are available through the dealer. You will have to pay a little to eliminate this problem. I'd also look into a new PCV valve(OEM).Do not "tweek" the TPS. Especially, if you do not have the right equipment. Clean the contacts if you must but adjustment of this is not neccessary.

retrofitting a rear tailgate switch
It is not a release or opener switch if you are refering to the stock switch. Just unlocks the hatch. The operation was tied into the central door locks.
