You have to rmove the cluster cover. There are three hidden screws. One behind the vent on the left end and two under the small vertical cover on the right hand edge. The switch is attached to this cover.

Where to find METAL Fuel line t-fitting?
Qman replied to Flowmastered87GL's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The return line goes to the filter(top hose). The vent line goes back to the tank. If you plug the lines you will experience vapor lock type problems. If you want to keep the canister then leave the fittings open or run dumby lines to no where. -
Look closer at the brakes. Those are complete STi components. 4 pot Brembos up front and 2 pots in the rear. The disc size is also much larger than the XT6

Nice Nick, when did you get the new rig?
-
After the last rollover ORG WILL NOT allow a lifted rig to run. It's simply a matter of preference. What do you do more of, Rallying or 4Xing?

Dude, headposts aren't for cars  You really need to get out more!

Mike, Jason is right on this one. You are trying to complicate an easy install. Everything you need to adapt a Weber is on your Hitachi. Including the linkage set up. Using the fitting from the Hitachi takes care of the inlet and overflow hoses for the carb. The vent line from the canister is left unhooked. Plugging this will cause a vapor lock condition. NOTE; If your Weber's fitting isn't threaded you will need to get a 1/8 NPT tap and thread the inlet hole. The tap will follow the hole so it should be almost impossible the make a mistake threading it. Make sure you use teflon tape or similar sealant when installing the fitting. Good luck!! -
EA82's, ER27's, EJ20's, EJ22's have all been installed in Gen2 rigs. Both in Australia and the states. There are a couple of STi Brats/Brumby's running around Australia. There is a couple of ER27 Brats and a Hatchback running in the states. A 2.2 in a '80 or '81 wagon. A 2.2 in Mudrat's, "Weeble", that ran the Rubicon. A 2.2 in a Brat in Seattle. An EA82T in a Gen1 Brat in Oregon. An EJ20G in a RX 3dr. So, yes, it has been done with some success. There should be info in a dozen or so posts and threads. Try a search for "transplants".

I've got one on my '85 Brat. Protecting my perfect pad.

custom aftermarket loyale mirrors???
Qman replied to SkankinPickle's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I agree, loos to be XT6 mirrors. If so they won't "BOLT UP" to a Loyale body style vehicle. May be able to fab something to make them work though. BTW, the XT/6 is considered a coupe as well. -
More info added to the quote in bold type.

Rear E-Brake donor found. (U.S. model)
Qman replied to CIS Subaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
One thing to consider here is that we have front E-brakes for a reason. EA81 and most EA82 do not have viscous center diffs to allow for this. Any 4WD/fwd trans will seriously not like you if you lock up the rear while in 4WD. I rallyX and a rear E-brake would be very helpful. But, without going to an AWD trans it would be very tough on equipment. Please don't confuse this with an "it'll never work" reply. I think it is very good info and if it will actually bolt up and work will be a great upgrade in the right situation. -
Above Greenwater off of FS70.

There will be many. Just watch for announcements.

D/R 5-spd into 84 wag.With D/R 4-spd
Qman replied to ruparts's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You are correct in your assumption. I just did a search using the key words "5sp D/R swap" and this was the result. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/search.php?searchid=43255 You will find quite a few posts regarding this. Read through some of them and if you still find that you are still not sure which parts you need let us know. BTW, which vehicle are you wanting to convert? -
First Pics from Hatch Patrol Xmas Tree Run
Qman replied to edrach's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Thanks to all that showed up. I was worried that there wouldn't be enough snow to play in after going up mid-week. It was a beautiful day. When we got to Greenwater we could see snow on the ground and it got better as we went up. It continued to snow off and on all day. The drifting was great. Thanks to everyone for helping with the set up and tear down of our day camp as well. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=617 -

It's raining as I type this so hopefully we'll get to see some fresh snow when we arrive. See you all in the morning. -
6'4" thank you very much!

I didn't have to bend mine. But I installed the brackets and welded them where they fit best.
