  1. Are you really interested in it Mark? If so, call me.
  2. We do understand Mike, still want you there from time to time though. We will be at the gravel hill above the pits(7220 I think). See you buddy.
  3. It could be the strut top itself. If it is starting to fail it will crack and dry out then separate.
  4. The XT6 bar may be too stiff. I installed the bar off of a GL10 onto my Brat. I had to weld the brackets from the GL10's rear lower control arms onto the Brat's arms. You will also have to cut some off of the ends(both sides to keep it even) to fit between the backing plates.
  5. There has been some R&D done on the gen2's and the 5 lug conversion. It will work but requires a little more creativity than the gen3's. I can give exact details as I don't know them. I do know it will work. The rear is basic the front will be the challenge. The engine has been done numerous times by the Australians and by a few Yanks. You have a couple of options with the engine swap. Run the AWD trans that mates to the EJ22. Or, contacting Mudrat for the adapter plate and clutch set up for the 5sp D/R. Whatever you decide to do it won't be an overnight mod. It will take time and money to accomplish. As well as alot of patience.
  6. I knew that would get a response like that. Just checking to see if there's still a pulse.
  7. Most of them actually leak through the tail lights. The seals leak usually. A good sealant will fix the problem in most cases.
  8. Umm, you still own a 4X4 don't you? Bring it if the threads aren't long enough.
  9. Hey Dante, how ya' been? Which 14"pug do you have? Is it round holes or ovals? I don't have any rear coil overs but there are a couple of EA82 wagons at Tacoma pull a part and I am sure there are a few in Lynnwood and Everett. Ken
  10. Not trying to slam ya' here but did you turn the caliper in or did you try to force it back first? It sounds like the calipers are sticking. Did you lube up the slide pin on the mounting/backing plate? Did you bleed them yet? If the fluid is real old it should have the fluid changed. Brake fluid attracts water and can actually absorb it over time.
  11. Only 3 days left. I went up early this morning and there is snow. It is still in the upper elevations. Was trying to snow while I was there though. Keep your fingers crossed for some more. Tree selection will be very good. I have about 5 or 6 cars arriving with me. See you there!!
  12. Cool, and get that skid plate on soon. It will save the oil pan!!
  13. Dude, quit quoting specs unless you know 'em. That is a 1982 GL Brat. If you look real close you may recognize it as SubaruBrat's rig. Which reminds me, did you ask Scott before you snagged his image? BTW, it does look real good though. Very eye catching!
  14. 45 degree's is diagonal. It needs to be vertical or horizontal.
  15. The bolsters in the RX seats are more pronounced and a little stiffer seat. I have the XT6 seats in my beast and I enjoy them. The Impulse seats in the "Beauty" are nice too.
  16. Your key will only turn 90 degrees. I believe straight up and down is open and sideways is locked. Sorry, been a while since we had ours. EDIT, I just realized what you were trying to say. Take the interior panel off of the hatch. Inside you will see the linkage and lock cylinder and such. Look for a rod that is laying down in the bottom of the hatch. You'll see where it connects into the cylinder.
  17. And for the record. MPFI was available in 1985 for the EA82. XT's and 2wd auto sedans had it. But yes, the first issue was in the late '83 turbo EA81's. And Corky's description of your question is dead on. L4 in a 'roo. Not yet, but there is an L3.
  18. I would imagine that the CV is hyperextended. You'll need to either take the inner bolt for the control arm out or pop the ball joint out of the socket in the spindle. That way you can take the joint off of the tranny. Then the motor/tranny will probably sit down as it's supposed to. The only way to "FIX" it is to remove the boot and reassemble it. Then reinstall the boot and clamp. The DOJ is supposed to have a spring clip inside the cup that prevents it from doing this. Unfortunately, most rebuilders do not reinstall the clip.
  19. I agree as the gasket s/b fine. Just make sure that none of the coating has been removed from the gasket.
  20. Well, after checking it out it appears to be bad/worn springs on the coilovers. With the rears completely raised and the front at it's lowest settings the rear only is 3/4" higher. Turbone has a set of shocks to replace them with and see if that improves the stance. Good luck Greg.
  21. Donors are what life is all about. I have done the same thing a few times. Many parts that keep all those should be buried Subaru's alive.
  22. A couple reasons people are a little tense about strret racing is there have been a lot of deaths lately directly connected to street racing. Getting worse around here evry day. Most are caused by too young inexperienced drivers driving cars that they can not handle. Racing is defined as any comparison of speed at any speed. Yes, that would even include seeing who could go the slowest. A friend of mine is a cop for a local small town. I asked him to pace me when I did some tire tranny work and that is when I got the racing definitions from him. And...I too have a daugther. Ask around and I bet you won't want to go there with me either. On the respect note, you can't get respect from or for something that someone doesn't understand. That is one of the reasons we are involved with the West Coast Subaru Show. It serves as a tool to teach people about the past and the heritage that is Subaru.
  23. I know you are. There are so many relays everywhere on that one it would be hard to remember them all.
