dual E-brake setup questions
Legacy777 replied to torxxx's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI haven't seen a dual cable setup, but I would think you'd just need to extend the existing cables for each side to each brake handle. Using either cable clamps or something to attach the cables. You can see in this pic, there are two separate cables....and you could either have a bracket that attaches to the existing end and then just use another cable (or the same cable to go to each e-brake handle. http://main.experiencetherave.com/subaru/images/manualseatbelts/05/IMG_1127.JPG

2002 Forester code P0172 System too Rich
Legacy777 replied to travisriggle's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXNOx emissions are caused by high heat and typically only present in high quantities if the catalytic converter is bad. CO emissions are caused by low heat or incomplete combustion. HC emissions are unburnt fuel. Typically CO & HC emissions will typically go hand in hand.

ej22e cam sensor going out?
Legacy777 replied to subarurx yo's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAre you positive the timing belt is on properly? There are marks on the front of the crank gear that commonly get mistaken for the properly timing alignment mark. Is the ECU and everything grounded properly? That's honestly the only thing I can think of that would cause it to fry the cam sensor. The ECU grounds to the intake manifold on the back driver's side. Have you tried a different ECU?

2002 Forester code P0172 System too Rich
Legacy777 replied to travisriggle's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXTravis, Welcome to the USMB. I would recommend taking it to a good reputable Subaru shop. This thread has some similar issues, they mention spark plugs and just crud build up. http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/66-problems-maintenance/8563-p0172.html I think spending a little money for a shop to do a good diagnostic check/tests is probably worth the time and money rather then just replacing parts. Hopefully others can chime in with some additional info and maybe recommend a shop in the area.

Antenna Wire?
Legacy777 replied to 14D's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXGood deal! Glad you found it. The stock radio has about a 12" extension on it. It's not like the standard head units where the lead plugs directly into the back of the deck.

Antenna Wire?
Legacy777 replied to 14D's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe antenna wire goes around the driver's footwell area under the carpet. If you peel back the carpet you should be able to find it.

00 Impreza OBS taillights and mirrors?
Legacy777 replied to bca23's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI think there were some mid-year changes on some of the body styling. So maybe 98 or starting with 99 might work.

2003 imprezza outback sport
Legacy777 replied to Sioux-baru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf you can determine what all the problems are and if they can be fixed with a little bit of money, it doesn't sound like a bad deal. There are probably better deals out there without having to fix as much stuff though.

1998 Subaru Legacy Aftermarket Exhaust
Legacy777 replied to scoobywagon45's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThere really isn't anything bolt up out there. You could get a borla header that would probably fit. Your best bet is to have an exhaust shop fab up a custom exhaust with performance muffler if that's what you're looking for.

Connecting IACV to after market ecu
Legacy777 replied to Blu Bug's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWelcome to the USMB. I would guess for the 2-wire IAC valve, one wire would go to the ECU, and the other would go to a 12v ignition on/off source.

Upgrading cams
Legacy777 replied to tntkenny0927's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI would call or check out www.deltacam.com They regrind the existing cams to a more agressive profile.

Upgrading cams
Legacy777 replied to tntkenny0927's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThere is a cap on the back side of the passenger side head that the cam will slide out. The driver's side cam comes out the front and there is a piece that unbolts from the head that allows the cam to come out. Before you do either of these things, the timing belt and covers have to come off as well as the valve covers and rocker assemblies. Here are some pictures of installing the cams in my ej22t. http://experiencetherave.com/subaru/images/ej22t_headwork/17

Installing 4WD fuse = Car no longer shifts
Legacy777 replied to andygraham's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe fuse is NOT normally supposed to be installed. It is only to be installed if you need to run the spare tire or need to disable the AWD system.

2004 Subaru Legacy Anniversary Edition?
Yes it is a very true possibility that it would be cheaper just to buy a WRX and potentially could be less issues. You may want to check these guys out and see what they say. A friend in Houston had his 99 Impreza RS swapped with an STi. http://www.eastcoastswappers.com/

'99 OB Tranny Won't Meet Engine
Legacy777 replied to BigZ89's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWhen I had similar issues it was that the trans input splines and clutch were not lining up. It sounds like you've tried rotating the shafts so they line up, so not sure that's the issue...even though it sounds like it. Out of curiousity have you tried putting the clutch on the trans input shaft when the trans is not installed? My thinking is just to verify that the clutch actually will slide over the input shaft splines. If you try rotating the engine, and the trans is in gear, do the cv axles/wheels turn at all?

Upgrading cams
Legacy777 replied to tntkenny0927's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWhat year is your Legacy and what engine does it have in it? The cams come out pretty easily and should be able to be done in the car. We can provide some more info once we know what year and engine you have.

2004 Subaru Legacy Anniversary Edition?
Well the non-turbo engines are good, but would barely break 200 hp barrier even with a lot of mods/work. The better approach would be to do an engine swap with a WRX or turbo Forester. If you get an entire car and wiring, that would make things easier. There are a couple shops that do swaps like this. What part of the country do you live in?

2004 Subaru Legacy Anniversary Edition?
Welcome to the USMB. What are you looking to modify, what are you goals for the modifications, and how much money do you have/want to spend? Overall, the 04 Legacy is a good car, but it's probably not going to win any drag races. With some suspension upgrades it can probably handle better, but ultimately it depends on what your goals are and what you want from the car.

safety switch
Legacy777 replied to 86subaru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXBefore changing the neutral safety switch, I'd try resetting the ECU. If it comes back, it's not too hard to replace, it just screws into the transmission.

94 jdm 2.0 twin turbo problems
Legacy777 replied to ivans imports's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYour best bet would be to look at some of the overseas ebay or other auction sites. Or probably the better option would be to find a generic or coil or coil pack from another car you could convert to. SLi would be a good place to also check out and maybe some of the Australian/New Zealand Subaru forums since they also got this model as an import car.
