  1. You go thru the starter hole. Just dont drop your socket down into the bellhousing (ask me how I know!)
  2. Thats because its rotting away in your parents driveway J/K man, luv ya
  3. I'm headed up to Arlington tomorrow(delivering parts). Maybe I'll stop in at the PAP and check out these seats
  4. You do know what I'm going to do if you grenade that engine And you arent the only one with lots of experience with EA82's. I've also done my share. Some people dont have the time and money to do a tear down and replace a crap load of parts. The oil pump is the #1 contributor to TOD, the rest get replaced if the problem persists. Most of these parts were replaced on Niku-Sama's engine. It just needs a new oil pump re-seal imo.
  5. Best info yet, thanks Frank. Personally, I wouldnt try the stint....yet. Oil pump reseals are like changing your t-stat, it needs to be done on a schedule. Alot of EA82 folks change them when they do T-Belts, which is every 60K (preferably before 60K) You may not even own the car that long, who knows? GD, I would appreciate it if you stayed out of ANY EA82T thread for now on. If you're nice, I might give you a ride in my RX come Aug at the Show;) We'll see if your EJ22T has the Tq mine does. And I should have numbers on paper by then too.
  6. God, I hope they arent from a Honda Nissan?
  7. Its not the codes he is having problems reading, he wanted to know how to use the unit. And codes for New Gens are totally different than Old Gen. The readers to not cross-reference.
  8. Some of us "Old Folks" have bad hearing, so its not a problem sleeping with the youngins Looking at a Sat Map, the fairgrounds doesnt look like it has alot of camp spots. I could be wrong, so if someone has been there I hope they say otherwise.
  9. We had a bigger spat a few months ago, about the same thing. Different members tho Sooo, it pays to search
  10. I dont know if I could chaperon both of them at once
  11. Well there you go. You expect a engine with that many miles to hold up whilst beating the snot out of it offroad? Shame on you
  12. Hmmm, I have plans both days that weekend :-\ This Sun might be open, will have to see if I can get someone to watch my youngest boy.
  13. Any decent EA82 hoods there? Dent free, I dont care about paint.
  14. +2 I've had no problems with the swap in my XT6.
  15. At the stock boost rate (7psi) there isnt enough back pressure to cause any problems. I strongly suggest not upping the boost. Its going to be difficult to install a IC on a XT. Some have opted for a front mount.
  16. I had a friend in HS that had one with a built engine. It had so much compression that if you romped on it in 1st and let off, it would lock up the rear end. That car was crazy, I'm glad I survived that episode in life
  17. Yeah, all it needed was tinted windows to be complete :-p
  18. I had no idea you bought a new STi Guess I need to visit New Gen more often. Great pics, beautiful car. Sorry I missed you at the Delta BBQ. Stupid gate
  19. And a couple of bad vids [/url]
  20. And some more...
  21. Excellent turn-out and great weather. There was a mix of Old School American muscle and Imports. Heres some pics I took with my cell phone.
  22. I agree. Start doing the worst of it. Fix it so it wont get any worse, then save up to have it done right in a few years. You guys would have really enjoyed the Delta Cams BBQ on Sunday. Lots of Old School American muscle there. I'll post pics in the Meet and Greet thread.
  23. The XT6 pump will work, its suggested that you flush the system to get the OEM stuff out so it doesnt mix with regular ATF. I've thought about doing this on my RX, I would love to get rid of all the rotating mass on the front of the engine. Electric water pump and I'm not sure about the alternator yet.
