Well there you go. You expect a engine with that many miles to hold up whilst beating the snot out of it offroad? Shame on you

LSD 3.7 conversion to 3.9 LSD rear diff

+2 I've had no problems with the swap in my XT6. -
At the stock boost rate (7psi) there isnt enough back pressure to cause any problems. I strongly suggest not upping the boost. Its going to be difficult to install a IC on a XT. Some have opted for a front mount.

I had a friend in HS that had one with a built engine. It had so much compression that if you romped on it in 1st and let off, it would lock up the rear end. That car was crazy, I'm glad I survived that episode in life

Yeah, all it needed was tinted windows to be complete :-p

83 Coupe Love ..Restore Progress ( Pics page 2)
Turbone replied to Bucky92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I agree. Start doing the worst of it. Fix it so it wont get any worse, then save up to have it done right in a few years. You guys would have really enjoyed the Delta Cams BBQ on Sunday. Lots of Old School American muscle there. I'll post pics in the Meet and Greet thread. -
The XT6 pump will work, its suggested that you flush the system to get the OEM stuff out so it doesnt mix with regular ATF. I've thought about doing this on my RX, I would love to get rid of all the rotating mass on the front of the engine. Electric water pump and I'm not sure about the alternator yet.

Rear sway bar question
Turbone replied to RenaissanceMan's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Its not that hard to swap trailing arms. GL10 and Turbo XT's also have sway bar trailing arms. -
Just bought 87 Subaru RX
Turbone replied to wingspan99's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Its not a matter of IF, its WHEN. The car is 22yrs old and we know nothing about its history. If its the original engine, its going to need major work if maintenance wasnt kept up. I have alot of time/effort/money invested in mine. I'm pretty anal about everything on it and it uses up alot of my time to keep it running 100%. But damn, its fun when it is 100%. I have Rally X'd it several times, but retired it. It cant hang with the New Gen Subaru's. -
Just bought 87 Subaru RX
Turbone replied to wingspan99's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
First of all, welcome to USMB and the RX Club. Hope you have deeeeeep pockets Try doing a search her EA82T here and in the Retrofit Forum, lots of info in both. The stock engines are very problematic and if your not familiar with Subaru EA82T engines, it can be quite a challenge. The RX is not really suited for offroad use, but its not to bad when it comes to Rally and Rally X. Theres a few members in CO that are RX owners, they might add their .02. Look in my gallery if you want to see mine and do a search for my posts on the build. -

NO SVX post?
Turbone replied to gbianchi's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
Its OBD1, so it should be easy to pull the codes with a reader. If you want better/more info, go to http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=30&f=2 -
This vehicle sounds familiar. I've either seen the for sale ad, or someone has posted about it looking for help. If I remember, the problem was fixed. BUT, without any more info about the problem with this car, I dont see how we could be of any help.

Car Ethusiast Newby Seeking Advice
Turbone replied to CDAGeek's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If this is true, then you have a problem. You will most likely need help if you go for this. There are some members that are in your area, maybe they will volunteer to help. -
Quelle disastre. 88 GL-10 turbo toast?
Turbone replied to M45's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I would head to Barstow, more places there to maybe get parts. I know theres a Subaru Dealership in San Berdo, but I cant remember the name of it. To fix that engine correctly, you will need to have the heads milled flat again....as I'm sure they be warped now. Unless you can find another set to get you by. If another board member (S'ko) chimes in, he might be of some assistance. I think there might be another member or 2 in that general area, but I'm not positive without doing a search. -
I dont think its a part from your Brat. The Clarin Corp makes this stuff: Products Description: Metal & fibre glass chairs for office, school, auditorium, modular seating, etc. Back rest, Footboard seating fixture, Seat pivot, Chair seat, Portable Structures, Tents and Membrane Structures, Grandstands and Bleachers, Auditorium or stadium or special use seating parts and accessories, Executive seating, Lounge seating, Stool seating. I'm not sure about that last one

87 gl wagon carburated. how do i get more power?
Turbone replied to przao1157's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
No, theres nothing cheap you can do. They come from the factory pretty gutless. You can however, get a Weber carb and adapter for it. Which will make it somewhat quicker, but no speed demon.
