  1. You wont find any KYB's for the front unless they are for a FWD. I've looked extensively and they dont make them any more. The best option is to go 5 lug and then theres all kinds of strut options.
  2. I bet you could take a clean rag and wipe it on that car and it would have blue on it. But your probably right about the claybar.
  3. I havent been able to find squat for front shocks on my RX, not even replacement shocks OEM, maybe. It makes my decision to go 5 lug even more so now. But the RX will be getting retired from its short RallyX career soon. My Imp will be up and running in a few weeks:headbang:
  4. I believe its spelled "tetanus". Nasty stuff too :-\ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetanus Tell the detailers not to go to far on the claybar. Its going to remove more paint and just might go to the primer.
  5. You brought back a 4mo old thread to say that? :-\
  6. I couldnt remember if they did or not. Usually they are so covered in road grime/dirt, its hard to see anything in there and I usually have to chip away the crap on the bolt heads just to get a socket on. Guess I need to pay attention more next time I strip a EA
  7. I did that to one of mine at last years WCSS, trying to climb that deeply rutted hill of mud :-p
  8. You can PM me your addy/cell # and I'll try and come by tomorrow and take a look.
  9. You can take the inside plastic covers off and wire brush the ends. Then add your lube of choice. I've used my 1/2in breaker bar with extensions to get those suckers out. If you have access to a compressor and strong air ratchet, that would work best.
  10. My last dyno run a refreshed engine, no mods but add ons, was 130chp est. I had 100whp. Nothing but a MSD coil, K&N drop in air filter and 2.5in exhaust back. If I had the $ for all new hi-po parts, I dont see why those numbers couldnt be reached. But if I wanted that kind of power in my car, I would just do a engine swap  I have a few new upgrades now and need to get it back on the dyno. But I'm done with the upgrades.
  11. It helps when the questions are asked in a intelligent manner. And we know you use the search function first
  12. Actually, I think he's talking about just flipping sides with the axles, not parts. http://subaruxt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8956&sid=be0383b248d454811aea9bf9a773aa1e
  13. If you already replaced the inners and now want to do the outters.....your going to want to start kicking yourself now. Because you need to take all that off to do the outside boots :-\
  14. Man, I'm a sucker for a good love story. Looking at LB in the garage actually brought a tear to my eye. He looks like he's happy and at home.
  15. This would be the place to go in your area. Lots of good recommendations. http://www.smart-service.com/
  16. Hey Tony, welcome to the USMB. Just to let you know, your XT6 is considered Old Gen. There are folks here that can help you, but a better site to get complete info about your car would be subaruxt.com.
  17. Get the garage cleaned out yet? I just noticed.....he's the same color as the house :-p
  18. If my memories serve me right (which it rarely does) you would be the first to try this. You will should be able to get help from a few with the schematics, but otherwise you would be on your own. Except for the few electrical guru's here that might be able to help.
  19. Not very many have been done because of it being a PITA. You need to also find a turbo x-member, otherwise the up-pipe wont clear. You can hack it out with a sawsall, but thats a last resort. Will need to change the fuel pump for more PSI. Will also need to figure out the ECU/knock sensor and wiring harness. That one will be your biggest hurdle.
  20. Make sure everything is hooked up but the coil wire to the disty. Hold the end of the coil wire that goes to the disty and have someone crank the engine over :-p Ok, I'm being a wise a$$. Dont hold the coil wire, stick a screwdriver in the end and ground it out. If you see spark when you crank the engine, its good.
  21. We pretty much have it pinned down to the VR. That NEC SC is the likely culprit. And yes, there's more than one cap thats leaking I havent had any time lately to source parts, but I'm not the only one looking.
