ea82t to ea81 question? need help quick.
Turbone replied to wr-ecks's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Not very many have been done because of it being a PITA. You need to also find a turbo x-member, otherwise the up-pipe wont clear. You can hack it out with a sawsall, but thats a last resort. Will need to change the fuel pump for more PSI. Will also need to figure out the ECU/knock sensor and wiring harness. That one will be your biggest hurdle. -
How do you test the ignition coil?
Turbone replied to elfdowney's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Make sure everything is hooked up but the coil wire to the disty. Hold the end of the coil wire that goes to the disty and have someone crank the engine over :-p Ok, I'm being a wise a$$. Dont hold the coil wire, stick a screwdriver in the end and ground it out. If you see spark when you crank the engine, its good. -
We pretty much have it pinned down to the VR. That NEC SC is the likely culprit. And yes, there's more than one cap thats leaking I havent had any time lately to source parts, but I'm not the only one looking.

Turbone replied to spokanesoob's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Yeah, when I watch TV, its usually the Military Channel, History or History International. And Speed. A few other favorite Fighter prop planes from WW2 are the F4 Corsair, P38 Lightning, P47 Thunderbolt, ME-109, Spitfire. -

The shark teeth design was made famous by the Flying Tigers. It was before we declared war on Japan and we were "unofficialy" helping China out. The group was led by Claire Chennault. The design was painted on the Curtis P-40. And those are bombs painted on the rear, which isnt correct because they were fighters, not bombers. -

EA82T Fan Modifications....?
Turbone replied to EvilDead's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I've been meaning to get it on a relay, but for now it runs all the time. Sometimes when working on the car and I need the ignition on, I will disconnect it. Of course, having CRS, I forgot to re-connect it once. I looked at my temp gauge running higher than normal and went .....duh:rolleyes: It def makes a difference. -

I have the EA81 elec fan on mine. Right now it will run (at speed) around 165deg. When the weather gets warmer and I'm in traffic it will get up to 190deg. -

Yup had a good time. I was having old man problems (weak bladder and no bathroom:rolleyes: ) so I didnt get any of Dicks stuff. I have a feeling that these meets are going to get fewer and farther apart. I went to get gas tonight and noticed the price went up almost another .10 a gallon $3.84 for Super Soon we will be having Yaris/bike meets -
No, it said it was sold.

I've got it also. I hope I make it there in time. I did a install late yesterday and I still need a couple of parts from the parts store. And then it needs to be fabbed -
It sounds like the front seal is leaking. I would probably do a complete service on the front if it was me. New timing belts and tenshioners, re-seal the oil pump, new cam shaft seals/o-rings. Check the valve covers and oil pan for leaks. The gunk on the steering column base is most likely from a bad axle boot. If I can remember tomorrow, I will stop by my XT6 and look at the blue wire and make sure which terminal is goes into. Dont know the hub size, so I cant help you there. The y-pipe can be a beotch. Dual port for twice the fun! PB Blaster the studs first of course. Never had any leaks myself tho. And yes, they are cool cars
