Subaru Leone vs. Nissan Skyline you tube
Turbone replied to dragonfire's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Dont remember alot of info on this, but its owned locally by a NWIC member. Not bad for a cell phone pic:-p Ok, did a little searching. Its a 89 GT-R32 Belongs to BREWPUBEAVER (Dave). I took the pic at the Tacoma Krispy Kreams parking lot during a Thurs night meet. -
Lookie what I found in a random search.

Eh, my repair today was to remove a broken lower shock mount bolt. I guess it really didnt need to be removed....it fell out sometime last Sat when I went to the car show:-p So all I needed to do was find a new bolt and take out a roll bushing from another shock and it was ready to rock again:headbang: -
Thats a possibility. Are the HG's originals?

Help needed ASAP!! EA81T died driving on the freeway
Turbone replied to Scott F's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The control unit in the disty most likely died. Either find a new(er) disty, or a control unit. -
4eat lifespan
Turbone replied to nixon's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
I would probably get the transfer clutches replaced. At that mileage, I'm sure it would have its AWD capabilities lessened. If they kept reasonably good rubber under it, it may not be a issue. But if they ran tires that had lots of wear, it will put stress/wear on the clutch discs. **Disclaimer** My experiances are with the older 4EAT's and may not be applicable to newer models. -
I would wait a while before selling the Lego. Granted, I've only owned my SVX for about a month and have only put 20mi on it. But from all the reading I've done of others experiances with thiers, you may want a backup car for a little bit. At least until the bugs are worked out. Any more info on the car? Mileage, condition, etc?

Need to understand some physics and enertia here. This isnt the same as a airbag inside a car. If there was a big airbag on the back of the car and it was hit by another car at substantial speed, what happens? The airbag doesnt just go poof! and you remain where you were parked/stopped. The enertia/energy has to go somewhere. You ever have a beach ball against your chest and someone punches it? You get propeled backwards. The energy gets transfered thru the ball and into you. Dont think this one would work. I think we need a accordian suspension. We see it in cartoons all the time:-p

Can a 3-spd Loyale wagon really do 130mph?
Turbone replied to TheLoyale's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Nah, I think a cliff would be better:rolleyes: Make sure you have a good tight grip on the steering wheel tho:-p -
Thats what I like to hear! Well, the accolades are nice, but mostly that the parts are what did the trick;) How about some pics to show us the engine, etc?

Yup, got it out yesterday. Have to wait for the new engine to get here, not sure how long it will be, but I get a break and can work on some of my stuff now. My SVX is getting a new speed sensor on Fri and thats a PITA to do (under car). -
Even if you do come up with a better braking system for a lifted EA81, you still have the problem of enertia. Especially going downhill on a dirt road. Your tires may be stopped, but the rig is going to keep trucking. If you had a straight axle setup in the rear, you would have some chioces of bigger rotors.

Hmmm, heres the best option of all...................slow down:-p Using the tranny to slow you down helps too.

Stick around and BS with us next time we get together:rolleyes:

I bought a load balancer today, but didnt have a chance to use it:-\ Tomorrow that sucker is coming out. -
Somewhat related to the Tac PAP. Would you believe there are 3 FIAT X 1/9's there? They had 2 there for a couple of weeks and when I was there the other day I saw another. What are the odds of that?:-p You rarely see one of those things on the road. I know there was one for sale in Buckley just a few weeks ago also. Darn things are coming out of the woodwork all of a sudden:rolleyes:

Yes thay are:mad: They suck to work on. I had to lift the engine just to get the last bolt on th ac compressor. Way to much stuff to disconnect:rolleyes: The engine wont come out with just a chain from the hoist. I have to go to Harbor Freight today and get a load balancer because it has to be tilted almost vertically to get it all out. If this was a Subaru, it would be back on the road by now.
