  1. Did you get a OEM t-stat? The temp difference on radiators is between top and bottom. Hot on top and cold on bottom means its not circulating and could mean a clogged rad. WW wouldnt hurt, but I would try and fix a couple of the other issues first. Replace the t-stat, flush the rad and maybe blow the fins out on the rad with compressed air.
  2. Sounds to me like air flow could be the problem. It has all the symptoms of a clogged radiator, but you say its new. AC condensor fins plugged up?
  3. I want to go, But it depends on a few things. Talk about it later.
  4. Do you own a Subaru? Dont think this forum will help much if not:confused:
  5. Happened to me in my 6 in Auburn, with a MB. It was one of the big 4drs with a V8 and there were 4 peeps in the car. Yeah, I got spanked:-\ Hopefully with the engine upgrade I have coming, its not going to happen again:mad:
  6. I can give you a 100% guarentee that if the short block of that EA81T is bad that the heads have cracks between the valves. And they are probably big ones. I was considering this mod a long time ago and decided it was to much work for little improvement. Go the EA82 SPFI if you want the FI.
  7. Whoot! Richie is a Daddy:banana: Congrats and hope the Missus and new onw are doing fine.
  8. The Hatch Patrol will be having a weekend campout this Summer. Probably be up at EC like before. August sounds like a good month.
  9. You will need the buckets/surrounds for the lights. Going to need the grill also I think. Then you need to figure out the wiring. Someone the other day was talking about this, but I cant remember what thread it was.
  10. Well, like I said ealier, 99% of what I said about my situation is true. Everything but my Brat is broken. I'll have the RX running again in a few days, but the Hatch is going to take longer. Dont have a clue when my XT6 is going to be on the road again, but this year for sure. And yes Russ, still need the parts:-p
  11. Yeah, we still have a few around now:-p
  12. I didnt get the inspiration till yesterday. I wanted to post it early, see how many I could draw in;)
  13. Not going to make it. Got to go east to pick up a part to make my Hatch climb better:headbang:
  14. Scott in B'ham is the one thats going to be really dissapointed. He really wanted my Hatch:-p Sorry Scott:burnout:
  15. Ah c'mon, wheres the luv:-p As a charter member, I feel obligated to pull a fast one once in a while. Zap and Qman have done it in the past, and I wasnt sure if anyone else was going to step forward this year.
  16. Yes. It was a unique mix of the truth and BS:grin:
  17. First of all, I would like to thank all those that have offered to help. Even when they are somewhere else on the map. Its nice to know that there are still people around like that. Which makes this real hard to say, and I hope I dont offend anyone that was willing to help me out. April Fools:Flame: Got you suckers:dead: Do you really think I would practically give away my RX and Hatch? That should have been a dead give away:rolleyes: Do hope the ones that wanted to really help arent to pissed at me:-p Also, to set the record straight. 99% of my situation is correct. I got alot on my plate right now, but I'm hanging in there.
  18. I dont think anyone would want to be responsible for a minor, that wasnt thier own.
  19. I blew the HG in my RX.....again. But this was due to one of my mods and ignorance on its use (MBC). Manual boost controller. The turbo hit 15lbs a few times...... And when you have a divorced transfer case, the tranny is put under stresses it wasnt designed for. They wont last long, especially when they already have over 100,ooomi on them to begin with.
  20. The green plug should be right next to the ECU or in front of the windshield wiper in the engine compartment. I think pulling the whole dash is a little drastic. Most of the elec relays and such are above the fuse panel. Pull the panel and check the relays above it.
  21. Trust me, I really dont want to do this. But I dont think I have any other options right now. I havent worked for 2yrs now because of issues at home and cant afford it anymore:-\
  22. Ok, I give up. I've blown my last headgasket, my last CV and my last tranny. I blew the HG in my RX.....again. But this was due to one of my mods and ignorance on its use (MBC). I'm in the process of replacing both HG's now. I blew the tranny and a rear CV cup on my last outing in the Hatch. I have the parts to do it, just no time and effort. My 89 XT6 has been sitting for almost a year now, waiting for me to replace the engine and tranny. Got the parts, but the reasons are the same as above. I cant keep up with the maintenance on 4 cars right now. So I'm selling everything but the Brat. You can have this as a package deal or seperatly. $1500 or $500ea. Heres a pic of the HG that went:mad:
  23. Its fuse #18, second from the end on the row the spare and puller are on. Tell your friend to register over at XT6.net:-p
