  1. Ahem...Qman, the only times I see you in it, is when your trying to find out whats wrong with it But seriously, for a Honda its pretty quick. And loud. I find it hard to believe that your Turbo Legacy cant keep up with it :-\ But back to topic. When $ flow gets better for me, I will be doing a few things to "Sid" to make it a tad more quicker. Will, better get on the ball. You too Caleb.
  2. Thats because it was disconnected and you got it hooked up now. If you have more questions about Turbo's, I would suggest this web site for some good reading. How Stuff Works
  3. I wouldnt paint it, thats pretty permanent. At the least it will take some harsh chems to get it off. I use the Dot Matrix Static Cling stuff on my back and side windows of my Mazda truck. Its stayed on for years and does ok blocking the sun. They also make the solid type stuff also.
  4. Jeez, that brings new meaning to the term "jet lag". Hope things go better on the way home Ed. Whats winter like down there?
  5. Thanks Gabe for the info. Heres a link to a site that sells the covers. And they are not cheap GTS Light Covers
  6. It doesnt sound like you are in the USA, so any prices we give might be irrelevent to you. I would suggest looking for a donor car, I think a 85 - 89 wagon would even work for you. You can use the front fenders for direct replacment, but you will need to cut out sections from the rear quarter panels to replace the old rusted ones.
  7. Looking sharp, now we know why you havent been around for a while. One question tho, where did the headlight covers come from? Only got one?
  8. Ah yes, the ghetto anti-theft device. Lift hood, pull coil wire, close hood But realistically, a ignition interrupt switch is easy to install. Preferably a high amp switch, hidden under the dash is best.
  9. You may have had it right the first time. When the passenger side cam mark is straight up, there will be 3 small lines showing on the flywheel. These are not the timing marks, those are about 90deg to the right. Once you have this belt on and lined up you need to rotate the crank so the pass cam is pointed down. Now with the drivers cam mark pointed up, put on the belt. After your all done, time it with a timing light.
  10. Naw, no need to rub your nose in it. Just looking at what you did to your 1st car in less than a month is punishment enough
  11. Kinda glad you didnt buy my 84 coupe now :-\ You'll learn, its only money
  12. The jiggle pin is a small loose piece of brass that sits on the flat part of the Tstat. It allows air in the system to escape.
  13. The only times it got warm on me was when I was in town and sitting at the lights. You have to turn on the fans when in traffic. The back battery runs the fans, and has a inline fuse close to the battery. That sucks about the caliper, I guess thats from a few years of offroading abuse. It sounds like you might have a HG problem, due to the clogged rad fins. Hard lesson learned You really need to rinse it off when it gets stuffed with mud and junk. Will you have it fixed for the HP weekend?
  14. Yup, the rest of it is on the underside of the XT hood. Altho I did see something like it on Corky's 2dr WRX.
  15. Eh, when they work its great. I guess I'm lazy The one on my 86 T-Wagon hasnt worked since I got it and I still try to make it work. Did I say I was lazy? When the clutch gets worn out, the HH will be a bear to adjust right. Most people disconnect them and then dont reconnect when they put the new clutch in.
  16. Well, I'm going to be hard pressed to get the kids and wife up and at em by 6am, let alone me. I just might take an extra day off (Thurs) so I can get to bed early. Yea right, like I'm gonna sleep
  17. I'll most likely be in that group also. I will be ready at least 2 days in advance Otherwise someone will have to play catch up.
  18. I was lucky, I only had one break and it was stuck in the intake. But of course it broke clean on the head But like Danbob said, it was loose in the head. If there is any threads sticking out and you cant get the vice grips on it, try taking a cold chisel and tapping it at a angle counter clockwise. I've gotten a few out like this.
  19. Ok, I guess I need to edit my second answer I have had a couple folks tell me about this, so its obviously there. Altho I sure have never seen it in the FSM, I guess I need to get better glasses  This may be a feature that only comes on in the first 60K. On all my Soobs, I have never had the light come on for that reason.
  20. First answer - Yes, you need to adjust the cable some more. But not to much, its supposed to be so that at a certain incline the HH will work. So you need to adjust a little than test it. Second answer - Uh no. As far as I know nothing earlier than 90 that has this type of reset. You need to connect the green plug with one wire under the dash, to get the service codes from the ECU. Altho sometimes the color of the connector can be black.
  21. Whats the scoop on the EA81T engine? Are you doing a stock rebuild or going a little more?
  22. Hey Gd, he's on the "east coast". By saying "lift", he might mean a jack or stand
