  1. After reading that thread and seeing the pics it looks like the honda caliper is the same as the nissan one. Probably easier to find than the nissan 200sx, but I'll be damned if I put any part that came off a honda on my car :-\ And Imp cables and brake handle should work, I'll find out soon enough. Getting rear caliper brackets shouldnt be that hard, theres still lots of GL10's and turbo's showing up in the yards and here.
  2. Not to take anything away from Tex and the work he did on it, but this RX was originally built by Corky. Oh, I'm working on it. Getting closer all the time. But it may never be truly "done". Guy was working next door to me a few years back.
  3. Theres quite a few threads and write ups about the swap, you just need to do a little more research in the Retrofit forum. If you use the EA82 lower control arm, you will need to enlarge the hole for the lower ball joint. Thats easier than trying to find a XT6 lower arm.
  4. I've had pretty good luck with a plunger. They need to be fairly big dents to make it worth it. One was on Caboobaroo's XT6 and got about 80% of the dent out on the rear quarter panel. The other one was my sisters Ford Escape where she had backed into a concrete pole on the right rear quarter. It was scraped pretty good and had a bad crease. I got everything out but the crease.
  5. Dont bother with the dry ice, it rarely works (BTDT). Get a can o' air (stuff used for keyboards, etc) and a hair dryer or heat gun. Heat the area up with the dryer/gun (be careful not to overheat, you can bubble the paint) then take the can o air, turn it upside down and spray the area. If it doesnt work then the dent will need to be massaged from the inside, just like the painless dent removal guys do.
  6. Where did you hear that? MWE still has them, so does Napa. I think Bow Wow does too.
  7. How Austins Waterwagon got its beginning. My first lifted Hatch. Getting feet wet, first time. And a outing with the HP at Reiter.
  8. The car should have started whether the belt was loose or not, you got something else going on there. You can also get a shorter belt, just take it to the parts store and have it measured.
  9. Welcome to USMB. That sounds like quite the build, would love to check it out (seeing how we live close).
  10. Wow, you are totally off base. Please stick to the Old Gen forum. This is the New Gen forum. Where you know, people have newer Subaru's. There is a ton of info on Nasioc, you just need to read up then ask questions if you cant find what your looking for. Read the link that jarl provided, theres lots of info there.
  11. Its a pita to do by yourself. You cant just pick some urethane off the shelf to use either, its got to be the right stuff. Better off getting the used one and having a shop replace it if you want to save money and have it done right. They will not guarantee it seeing how its used glass, but its a lot cheaper than buying new glass. And $300 is a little high, it should be around $200.
  12. Yes, remove the bov. Venting to atmosphere is bad to do.
  13. If your going to post a pic of one, at least make it the best one :-p I need to do a decent photoshoot soon.
  14. You would never be able to use 4wd with tires that dont match. Theres a write up in the USRM about swapping the internals of a 3.7 LSD into a 3.9 rear diff. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49919
  15. http://www.indysworld.com/80s/general/wheels/wheels.html
  16. If its been sitting for a couple of years with bad hg's, theres a good chance theres water in the crankcase and/or cylinders. Check the dipstick and if its overfilled theres water in the oil pan. Pull the plugs out and turn it over by hand. If water comes out you know its not good. Coolant will eat the cylinder walls and coolant in the pan will eat the bearings. Been there, done that
  17. Make sure the screw holding the disty rotor on is still there, or if the rotor spins. And I believe the engine is a EA82T.
