  1. Wow thanks for posting that! I have been looking for good pictures of old subaru rally cars.
  2. Those poor paper cone filters don't seem to take that much to make them end up like that.Even a little bit of water seems to wreak havok on them.
  3. I have 215/75/15 BFG mtr's on my lifted hatch.Seems to do really good in the snow but I never got the chance to try it on the ice.
  4. Great input guys.It was really an idea more than anything cause I figured that MS would be the way to go with that.Allthough very different I still think twin webers sound better and better ,but at the altitude we live at here in colorado carbs can be a bit of a pain.I am pretty sure I am going to convert my hatch to spfi.
  5. I would first drain out the old oil and change the filter. Then add some regular non synthetic stuff and run it for a couple days and then drain out that oil and change the filter. After all that you should be good to go with the synthetic oil.
  6. Just a thought here and I was just wondering what some of the spfi guru's thought about it.Wondered if it was possible and as I doubt it really is needed I thought it was fun to think about.Anyone else toying with that same idea or others thought of it before?
  7. Dang that is sweet Keith! I had no idea it would be that simple for those guys to do the job.Good thing you took it somewhere and now you have the peace of mind.
  8. That is a nice big toy!Looks like it sits pretty high. How big are those tires?
  9. I really wish subaru would come back with some kind of 2dr coupe that means buisness like the older rx's.Something the the 2dr 2.5rs would be nice also.Just a thought.
  10. Looks really good! What gears you running in your car? 3.9 or 4.11,4.44? That really changes the attitude of the car.
  11. Nice cars! Your 2.5 rx looks alot better with that hood on there Phil.Looks great.
  12. Yes! That is roots of a good day I'd say! Happy birthday Mick.
  13. Thats insane! I hate those kind of people that will ruin someones day/week just so they can see the look on their face. I would have wanted to grab that car too if I was in the same situation.
  14. There probly is a good chance the headgaskets are good still but I would redo them since it is going to be way easier now than later.I think it would be a good time to do the cam seals, timing belts and tensioner as well as the water pump and front and rear seals.
  15. Ya I was wondering that myself ,why is there weld marks on the tie rod end?
  16. Okay it's finally my turn. Here is a pictures of my '86 hatch. -Ozified lift/ byb -Kyb front struts with rx springs -Rancho rear shocks 3.9 LSD,rear disk conversion, and a few other mods. Powder coated pugs. Stripes thanks to Mick. Tires are 215/75/15 bfg mud terrains. 3rd eye and painted grill.Seats out of an '04 wrx. Stainless steel brake lines. [/url] Thanks again for the pictures Keith.
  17. I know this is totally bogus but I saw one on a lifted sammy! Did not look very good sitting there on the hood like that.Poor suby part being on an inferior vehicle.
  18. Ya man that is a great idea. Subarus, campfire and woods and trails all go together really well.I am game, just need to think of the right spot I guess.
  19. Also something that you could try that I had good results with in the past is: -Slightly larger exhaust.I gained 1-3 mpg average. -Better coil and plug wires like msd.I could notice it had better scavanging abilities. -Also a good free flowing air filter. I did all of the above things to my previous ea81 hatch and I got 5-8mpg better.Good luck:)
  20. There is a local place here in colorado that Shawn W showed me.The do great work and I was very happy with my SS brake lines front and rear for my lifted hatch.Let me know if I can help.
  21. Can't beat $50 for a car.Let alone a parts car if it comes to that.
  22. Jeff should also put a JATO unit on his blazer so he can go back up it when he is done. His wheels won't even touch the ground.
  23. Awesome info.Any new info or pictures?I am really seriously considering doing this conversion.
