December 20, 200718 yr A fun winter project! Those cardboard boxes full of parts look exactly like the ones in my garage.
December 20, 200718 yr First off, my wife would KILL ME! Now, in 20 years when someone pulls that motor to stick into another Subie they'll LOVE seeing her name on the valve covers!
December 20, 200718 yr It was one thing carrying it in in boxes, but now that it's assembled, she's gonna have to help you carry it out to the car.
December 20, 200718 yr SWEETAH!!! That's better than putting a lego castle together on christmas day! nothing is better than legos for x-mas:headbang:
December 20, 200718 yr Awesome! The names on the valve cover are so over-the-top! If this isn't true love, I don't know what is!!! But if you guy ever separate, will there be a custody battle over the engine???
December 20, 200718 yr nothing is better than legos for x-mas:headbang: I second that! Rebuilding an engine is second, especially in the house.
December 20, 200718 yr It was one thing carrying it in in boxes, but now that it's assembled, she's gonna have to help you carry it out to the car. Yeah! Make sure to have someone videoing when you move that thing out to the car!!!
December 20, 200718 yr Wish I could just spend one day inside tinkering with a subaru motor. I have a pic on my old computer from where someone was doing timing belts on an EA82 and the previous owner wrote on the inside cover:"Poor Sucker".
December 20, 200718 yr sweet... i really like the book sitting beside the disasembled motor that reads "what's wrong with my car?":-p
December 21, 200718 yr That is really cool that your gf let you guys rebuild it indoors! My wife would not allow that. I tried carb center peice on the table once and that didn't go over well even though it was pretty. The big question is: Will the motor fit through the door way?
December 21, 200718 yr Will you adopt me so I can move in and sleep on the couch and watch the TV? I will bring my own engine.
December 21, 200718 yr I have a pic on my old computer from where someone was doing timing belts on an EA82 and the previous owner wrote on the inside cover:"Poor Sucker".  . That's great and so true. I'm dreading the day I have to do mine. As already mentioned earlier, hope you have a way to transport it out of the house and good luck.
December 21, 200718 yr Doesn't everybody rebuild their engines in the living room? It's about the only place you can work with wrenches wearing only socks Naked blets YAY! Naked legs BOO!

December 23, 200718 yr Excellent. Reminds me of my first engine rebuild. 1976 wagon. 1400cc engine. Rebuilt it in my kitchen, on the heavy duty table I had made. This was, of course, before marriage. Now I have a big insulated garage, soon to be heated.
