  4. I will spring for a Fat Tire, mmmm New Belgium Ale, but i've already got a Brat Hat. This will be good for us to exchange parts needs lists...
  5. or downtown DM somehwere, but parking might suck due to the holiday madness and all these sales the stores are telling us about, and the buy 1 get 100 free sales
  6. You need a good 1/2" breaker bar, a can of PB Blaster to soak the rust for a few days, pair of needle nose pliers for the cotter key, socket to fit nut and breaker bar, punch to remove roll pin, etc. torque Wrench to finish the new install axle nut. Probably a cheater pipe for the said breaker bar.
  7. Des Moines good. I will be coming thru late Friday in my SVX or early Saturday AM. Which subie to bring, if its old scoobies guess its my Brat. 85 Brat 92 Leg 92 SVX (next week) 94 Leg Wago

  9. heard nothing. I can always pop over to DM after 5pm when i get off work to join. eidt, which junkyard were they going to go die in, i could use some parts
  10. sometimes, the most important things are left out in posts. more info the better.
  11. Why do people prefer oiling the bottom of a car vs undercoating? I prefer undercoatiing/por 15, as it drys. Once its dry, i can drive gravel roads and the underbody stays clean, no dirt getting trapped in places that need to drain water out. what about oiling, doesnt that cause sand, dirt, dust to gather, therefore, holding salts and stuff from the road, vs falling off.
  12. i prefer undercoating, since it is not all messy to work under a car....but the experts should reply. lets start a new topic on the oiling of the cars... I just started a new topic thread on this.
  13. think the pictures are from the original seller, which was asking 12k for. my Brat looked similar but with 118k miles, i paid 2800 came with topper (overpaid for all the replacments needed). now, look at mine....would i trade, yeah, but i wouldnt lift hers. Mine will be rusting away in a few years, oh well...its fun and the looks i get when driving it......
  14. check for gas in tank-maybe someone stole the gas out. watch out for critters in the air box.
