ea82t cams for torque ?
subiemech85 replied to subiemech85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
trailer is 5.5x10 single axle http://www.strongboxtrailers.com/page/Model_550LHD_Landscape_Trailer_a I have been pulling it with a diesel vw jetta with less than 50hp, loadede with a mass of approx. 750lbs. in the form of a 48" cut ariens zoom ztr mower! this winter the trailer will be loaded with a deere 111h lawntractor with snowblower my skiwagon with ea71, and occasionally slipping clutch - especially on fast acceleration, seemed to handle pulling the loaded trailaer fine. EAT SNOW!!! -
I am building an EA82T with the carbed bottom end and the turbo heads shaved .010, so i'm wondering should I keep the turbo '87 cams or run the na '85 cams? any input will help. thanks. carb cams are from '85 code is no groove 3-51-47-7 trubo cams are from '87 code is one groove 14-56-56-14 the '85 cams are same for turbo and carb I want more torque! will be used for pulling trailer, going up hill, low speed trails. Buying cams is not currently in the budget.

'85 EA82 GL wagon d/r simply reliable, but..... TOD, seems to lack power '88 EA82T RX d/r didn't like E85 very well - ecs lean codes, 50% worked better - with the higher ethanol and leaking exhaust manifold gaskets, could still blow 20 lbs. boost good power, but low rpm power very lacking, usually using low range until 40+ mph '84 EA81 BRAT d/r in standard configuration was ok, but switch to '85 d/r, carb, and intake = much happier 11/1979 EA71 wagon GL s/r weber 32/36 manual choke, electronic ignition, XT6 alt and coolant tank, 15" pugs with winterforce, and block heater, and space heater for cabin on cold days..... very cold blooded, does not start when below 20f unless assisted, great winter car WITH HEAT!!!!! likes various blends of E85 good performance all of them were lacking in the fuel economy department

your best bet would be to put a GOOD clutch in, CENTERFORCE DF you did not say which engine you have, and the starter location -
continuation from http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=84251 seems like I made many LONG bumps with many for the ea71 I have ran the 32/36dgv with e85 and it works but the plan is to run the 32dir on e85 full time with the propper jetting does anyone have a jet chart for the dir series? what do the letters dir mean?
